INTRODUCTIONOperations management refers to creation of high level of effectiveness in a company byutilising resources of an business entity effectively and efficiently. Its main motive to balancerevenue generated in an organisation by its cost of production in order to maximise itsprofitability (Benjaafar and Daskin, 2013). In this present report, the chosen organisation here isAmazon which is largest electronic commerce computing organisation founded in 1994. It is oneof the largest internet retailer and operating its business activities worlwide. This report showsroles and functions of managers, comparison between traits of leaders and managers, role ofleaders in accordance with different situations and also various leadership styles which areessential to increase productivity of an organisation has been covered. The most importantassignment has also been covered .i.e. importance of operational management to achieveorganisational goals and objectives. TASK 1P1 Operations management is defined as planing, organising, controlling various businessactivities with a motive to maximise profitability of organisation. It is a process of transforminglabours and materials into products and services, which helps in gaining competitive advantagein business. Effective operational management will helps the chosen organisation Amazon inensuring maximum efficiency within organisation.LeaderA leader influences its team members in achieving specified goals and objectives inbusiness environment. In this regard, Amazon leaders guide and motivate its employeestowards their aims and objectives, which leads in making efficient and effective workforce in anbusiness entity (Childe, 2011).ManagerA manager is responsible to make effective business strategies with a motive to improveoverall performance of the organisation.
