INTRODUCTION
The below report critiques the research methodology used in the journal article of
Internet of things in Information Technology sector. The below report identifies the importance
of research methodology and critiques it accordingly as per the article.
MAIN BODY
Problem
The research problem addressed by the paper is how effective the security and privacy of
internet of things is? The internet of things is a growing trend across the world and organizations
across the world are building products which can be easily operated by the individual and can be
remotely taken anywhere (Security and privacy in the internet of things. 2017.). The article
addresses the importance of privacy and security in the internet of things.
Theories
The theory which is used in the research project is development theory. Development
theory refers to a collection of theories which explores how desirable change in the society can
be achieved properly. The journal article makes use of this theory to understand in what manner
the required change in the society can be achieved by making internet of things useful.
Methodology
The type of research used in the project is qualitative. The researcher has used the
technique in which the data is analyzed, collected and interpreted by the usage of statistical and
numeric data.
The approach which is used in the research is inductive. The researcher in the study
makes use of a variety of questions to narrow the scope of the study.
The research philosophy which is used here is positivism (Urquhart and Fernandez,
2016). Positivism research is used by the researcher in order to collect the highly structure data
on Information Technology. Along with it, the data includes large samples which helped the
researcher in understanding the information on more depth.
The type of sampling used by the researcher probabilistic. The probabilistic sampling is
used by the enumerator here is order in which representatives were provided with the equal
chances to be selected in order to take research further.

The technique of data collection used here primary which included surveys, interviews,
and observations. The type of analysis used is qualitative in which thematic analysis is used and
data is presented in forms of tables, charts and graphs.
Contribution
The contribution of the study to knowledge is that the research and the article helped the
people with understanding the dynamics of Information Technology and Internet of things.
Quality
The quality of the research is ethical and robust. It provides brief discussions about the
informative factors. Along with it, it stands up to scrutiny and is used to inform policy making.
Ethics
The ethical issued raised in research strategy is to understand the importance of Internet
of things and in what manner they are allowing the society to develop (Woods, Macklin and
Lewis, 2016). Along with it, the ethical issues related includes understanding the importance of
society's needs and requirement to achieve set growth and development from the usage of
technology.
CONCLUSION
The report analyses the importance of information technology in the issues of Internet of
things. The issues which are analyzed in the report is the importance of information technology
in the new world environment. The understands the research methodology used and in what
manner research methodology helped the overall report.
