3Task AThis assignment is based on the article that was published in The Sydney Morning herald, byDarren Gray. The title of the article reads as under “Extraordinary turnaround': Big miners pushing ASXtowards 10-year high” and is based on the overall development in the mining industry owing to thedevelopment of the interest of the foreigner investors in the Australian Mining Companies that havecontributed to their success in coming years[ CITATION Gra18 \l 1033 ]. It been years that the miningCompanies on the ASX 100 have seen such rise in their overall share prices and standing in the world. Itis stated in the article that the BHP rose almost two percent Thursday to close at $32.75, its highestclosing price since September 2014, while Rio Tinto rose 1.3 per cent to $82.95 in its best finish to atrading day since 2011. This shows that due to the interest generated by the foreign investors in themining companies the mining companies are experiencing a surge. As per the reports of Bloomberg theresource stocks have played a major role in uplifting the share prices for these companies, as miningbeing a very doubtful industry previously there was less resilience from the investors to put their moneyin this industry. But since recent years the industry has seen many changes and that has made it possiblefor the investors to develop them believe in the companies. Mining Industry is not stable and that isknown to all but the way the underlying stocks that are attached to the various assets of this industryperforms and functions. Therefore, it is important that investors should have an interest in the portfolioof the company. For the management of the company to function effectively, it is important that needto have investor interest in the financials of the company. So the mining companies are nowexperiencing this surge in their overall performance given to the fact that they have been applyingextensive accounting principles and policies in their financial statements and have been workingextensively in making their financial statements free from all kind of errors. Accounting principles andpolicies are very important for the overall growth and betterment of any company, they provide a basison which the companies can prepare their financial statements which carters to the needs of so manypeople who are dependent on the company given their standing in the industry[ CITATION Abb17 \l1033 ]. When we go through this report we see that there are various reasons which lies underlying tothe face value success of the mining industry in which the company is functioning. First the extensivesteps taken by the management that can helped in bringing foreign investment. Australian MiningIndustry is designed in such a way that they carters to the needs of people all around the globe, buthave never been able to reach a point where they have got the success they deserved from the people3 | P a g e
