Summary
The stolen generations are the generations of the children that were taken away from the Torres
Strait Island people and Aboriginal families. Such an act is a part and result of the past
governmental policy that were removed by the government, welfare bodies and the churches.
The children that were taken away were brought up and adopted, fostered by the white families,
and institutions. The process of child removal took place during the times of British
colonization.
