Ingham’s enterprises an Introduction
Ingham’s enterprise is an organization dealing in the manufacturing, supply, and marketing of
Poultry and non-Poultry products in Australia and New Zealand. They are among the leading
manufacturer of poultry and non-poultry products in Australia (Bedwell, 2017). They started
their journey as farm fresh poultry good suppliers. However, with a passage of time, they
expanded their business to the levels where they are delivering ready to cook variables and
frozen Chicken and meat variant to the institutional buyers like Hotel chains, school chains
and mass kitchens of Australia and New Zealand. The range of their products can be divided
into three major segments; they are "Farm Fresh Poultry and Meat Products." "Ready to cook
line of the products" and "Turkey Meats" On the lines of the diversification we can make a
note about their below the line activities like cattle farms, fodder procurement and horse
breeding (Mitchell, 2018).
Process Flow of the Organization
One of the largest meat and Chicken manufactures of Australia, Ingham’s enterprise's club
together Poultry and non-Poultry products into a flow of operations to cultivate deliverable
eatable products for the Australian population. As an enterprise delivering eatables they
clocked a fair deal of profit and earned a reputation of being a consistent supplier of the
goods. It happened because of the fact that operations support the process flow at all the
levels of the industrial line up catering to the poultry based needs of any particular region
(Perroni, 2018). All their processes related to the procurement of the perishable goods are
lined up with the help of a reporting culture dependent on the seasons and other obstacles
related to the delivery of the goods at the final “point of purchase.”
The feed for the cattle is the primary raw material for them, after the procurement of the
cattle, the cattle becomes a raw material for the production and packaging unit (Cummins,

2014). The process flow of the Ingham’s enterprise procures fodder as well as poultry as their
core operations. Both fodder and the raw material of the poultry are perishable in nature.
This is why they cannot follow the inventory model of "just in case" full-heartedly (Holland,
2018). However, in order to retain their position as a leader and a consistent player they are
bound to produce these goods on a regular basis. For tackling the condition of the overflow or
the surplus, Ingham also developed a sales network that produces fresh chicken and meat
products (Thompson, 2018).
Apart from it, they also have a production line working to develop processed foods and other
poultry and non-poultry supplements for the market. It also means that their Process flow
creates a dynamic pipeline with an intention to consume the raw product coming out of the
lines of the operations on an urgent basis (Thompson, 2018). They have a huge product
range to offer, the farm fresh chicken can be termed as the starting point and well-established
products inside the freezers of the supermarket can be considered as their final products.

Positioning and Capacity Planning
In the year 2017, Ingham’s enterprises planned to double its production facility. At that point
in time they were operating with 345 processing units for Poultry products in Australia and
New Zealand. Apart from it, they were also operating with eight units to procure the fodder
or the non-poultry products. Their attempt to double the capacity is justified because of their
strong and sensible geographic presence (Theunissen, 2017). As a policy, this company
developed its unit in a range of 100 Kilometres from the Metro cities. It allows them to
develop a local manufacturing and selling hub for the farm fresh products. In the second run,
they developed a regional network by touching non-metro cities. The proposed expansion
plan in the year 2017 is justified because they have a well-developed network for selling the
