1.0 INTRODUCTION
Air Asia was established in 1993 with commenced operations in 1996. In
2001, Tune Air Sdn. Bhd. (Tony Fernandes’s company) was purchased this airlines
from DRB-Hicom. Air Asia never look back after that. Basically, Air Asia’s first and
main base is the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur International
Airport, while its secondary hubs are at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Sehai
International Airport and Penang International Airport. Air Asia is well known as
Malaysian low cost airline and even Asia’s largest low fare, no frills airlines. The
airline claims “No Admin Fee”, but has some fees for services which are free on
other airlines. Air Asia slogan is “Now Everyone Can Fly”.
Malaysia Airline Berhad is also known as MAS in short. MAS is founded in
1947 as Malayan Airways, but it has change its name as Malaysian Airline System in
1 October 1972. MAS is the flag carrier which is own by government of Malaysia.
MAS headquarters is situated at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang,
Selangor. MAS operates flights at its first base in Kuala Lumpur International Airport,
and secondary is base in Kota Kinabalu. Malaysia Airlines has two airline
subsidiaries, which is firefly MASwings. Firefly operates scheduled flights from its
two home bases Penang International Airport and Subang International Airport. The
airline focuses on tertiary cities although has recently launched services to Borneo
from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. MASwings focuses on inter-Borneo flights.
Malaysia Airlines has a freighter heat operated by MASKargo, which managers
freighter flights and aircraft cargo-hold capacity for all Malaysian Airlines’ passenger

2.0 ANALYSIS
2.1 companies that do a better job of engaging attention and building your
interest in its products.
Between these two companies, Air Asia is more creative in its poster than its
MAS poster. For Air Asia companies, their posters look more vibrant and stand out,
whether they're young or old. The colours they use are the ones that can enhance
the look of a poster because every poster they make should look bright and
interesting to look at. For Air Asia posters, for the background, they use blue and the
word is a bit red, this can obviously enhance the poster to look lively. On the other
hand, for MAS companies, they use darker colours that are dark blue as background
and use red for writing. This shortage will make consumers less attractive because
of its unattractive colour. Tonnes of colours used are dark and the size of the text
used is also less. So in my opinion, the Air Asia company’ has the potential to attract
more consumers to get the deals it offers.

2.2 By referring on effective business Blogging and microblogging tips, explain why
one is using the social network more effectively than the other.
2.2.1) Keep it fresh and mix it up
Updating a regular post can be a major goal of showing them Facebook fans,
while Twitter followers are more familiar with regular posts. Try mixing up
conversation notes using image and video help. Marketing experts also suggest
businesses need to update their audience in a more organized way if there is only
something new, informative and interesting to say to their followers. Every company
needs to put a new touch on the offer, though companies need to constantly update
updates to promote either a current offer or a call to action for the project.
In my opinion, between Air Asia and MAS companies, MAS companies are
constantly updating their latest deals to promote deals such as discounts or vacation
packages. They promote discounts to their customers especially to students. For
vacation packages, they target consumers who go on vacation abroad or are better
known as "backpackers". According to a source from this twitter, MAS updated their
twitter account more than Air Asia. It is evident that the last post of the MAS on
twitter was 2 hours ago while for Air Asia it was 1 day ago. This shows that MAS has
always and consistently offered attractive and affordable packages to its customers.
This is a strategy to find their users on a regular basis while making them loyal users
to the services they offer.

2.2.2) Frequent Offer
Next is a frequently made offer. The most common offer is to attract
customers to get an offer. In addition, the offer or package also needs to be
attractively designed to get the reader excited about the package and the benefits of
the offer. So every company should increase the frequency of offers such as
discounts for example holidays or long holidays especially in December. The
company also needs to be creative in introducing the package and targeting the
target audience. For example, posters posted on twitter pages should be interesting
and easy to understand. This is because, whether young or old, likes to read or see
something that is easy to understand. How often a bid is made must be in line with
the creative poster. This is because if the company regularly makes offers but fails to
deliver the objective to the consumer, it is also a waste of effort. This strategy is
considered successful because it is one of the marketing strategies in microblogging
tips.

For offer frequency tips, MAS companies show that companies regularly
make offers to consumers. This is evident when in November alone they made more
than 5 deals compared to MAS only made 2 offers in November. This indicates that
Air Asia's company strategy is to lure their loyal customers by offering more
discounts or affordable packages. Compared to the MAS community, they are less
likely to make offers to their consumers. In addition, the Air Asia also made a holiday
offer and has now introduced some long holiday discounts in December. This is
because, in those seasons, family members will find cheap tickets to go out for a trip,
whether at home or abroad. So the frequency with which they make an offer will tie
up every user to keep waiting for the offer next season. So obviously, these tips also
show that Air Asia.
2.2.3) Sharing experiences and information.
Social blogging is a commonly used strategy for sharing experiences to serve
as additional ideas and concepts within the business. Every company should always
look for unique opportunities to share their ideas and presentations with not only
your readers, but their affiliates as well. And that will lead to more positive prospects.
Examples of activities or information that you can do are to announce current or
upcoming events, awards, and news. But this should be done in a simple
conversation tone. This is to get the target audience to respond or share the story of
what the company wants to do. So, companies should not overlook Tumblr, as it is a
popular thing in the microblogging world. Through tumblers too, users can send text,
photos, quotes, links, dialogs, audio, video, slideshows and other posts. Tumblr can
also provide the most appropriate domain options. So the company can auto-
syndicate to Facebook and Twitter. Then, Users can track statistics by using Google
Analysis.

In my opinion, for these tips, Air Asia's companies have been highlighting their
social, eco-friendly counterparts over MAS. This is evidenced by the fact that Air
Asia companies regularly host festivals with other crew members. They also often
join or collaborate with other events to show that they are also active in outdoor
activities. For example, during the last Deepavali celebration, they welcomed the
crew and the underprivileged children. In addition to doing outside activities, they are
taking the opportunity to help disadvantaged children. For MAS companies, the
activities you see on their twitter page are more about appreciating something by
mouth than by physical activity. For example, they congratulated the Tiger Team
during a match against Vietnam. So it is clear that the Air Asia more social by
engaging in outdoor activities such as hosting 30 students from SMK Bentong in a
program to support supporting Code Hours - introduction to programming. The small
conclusion that can be made is that companies also need to take every opportunity
to enhance their image while engaging in external activities.

3.0 CONCLUSION
In conclusion, between MAS and Air Asia, the two companies have their own
advantages and disadvantages. For Asian companies they have the advantage of
regularly making offers to consumers, and often engaging in external activities
involving outsiders. While for MAS companies, they have the advantage of creating
posters that capture the attention of consumers and are also creative in creating
sentences that appeal to consumers. In addition, the language they use is simple but
compact.
In my opinion, for Air Asia companies, they need to increase their efforts by
creating more attractive posters and simple yet understandable language. In
addition, for MAS companies, they need to expand their activities so that their image
can be recognized not only by local users but also by foreign tourists. This will give
them a positive view of their company. Thus attracting consumers to get the services
their company offers.
