LITERATURE REVIEW
Impact of tourism activities on environment, society and economy of the country.
According to Del Chiappa and et.al., (2018) environmental impacts have been raised in
recent years. With the rise of this sustainable tourism it has also made growth for being
environment eco-friendly. Tourism sector have potentially whiled in creating some beneficial
effects in contributing towards conservation and protection surrounding. It is direction for raising
their awareness values and also serve tools for protect financial systems and essential for
increasing economic, Rasoolimanesh and Jaafar, (2017) says, tourism is sector in which they
have countries for achieve their economic, environmental and society goals. Physical
environment is one of main sources and generally travels used to move to different natures for
getting more experience. As per Kazak, (2017), said that media has reported about global
environment problems and issues for which government needs to pay attention towards them so
that they can increase more. Hence, environmental factor is major issue for tourist sector. In UK
sector TUI used overused of water resources for hotels, swimming pools and other personal
works. This might be results in shortages of water along with generating greater volume of
wasting water.
Higgins-Desbiolles, (2018) viewed that there are many benefits from having society
tourism that might be included commercialization, protective localized society and strength in
communities. Tourist when they visit towards UK country they go for having some food taste
and are excited for knowing more culture arts plus crafts. De Lange and Dodds, (2017), states
about that local people can helps in increasing tourism developments as well as try to improve
their jobs sector which is related to tourism professional training of business furthermore
developing more organizational skills. On other hand Alisa and Ridho, (2020), said that social
change is mainly referring to changes in society acts or behave. There can be many changes that
might be needed to change in having better results. Enchanting some have introduced to alcohol,
and they are most harmful, also try to turn in crime that can have negative impacts on society.
As per Hamid, Johari and Kunasekaran, (2020), viewed, for investing people money and
time into tourism sector they have positive impact which might be had hope for achieving them.

This sector most expenditures generated from having host economy. The money in which
tourism sector earn they are again reinvesting into economy of country. From this some money
can be spent in education and healthcare. Inversini and Rega, (2020), states about indirect
contributions might be come from supplying of goods and services which are not directly related
to industry of tourism. Sometime it is also difficult to say about employees directly or indirectly
relationship in this sector. There are multiple effects which is somehow related to spending in
one of economic benefits. On other hand, Jamal and Higham, (2021), said that many destinations
is being inexperienced either uneducated furthermore economic do not have awareness about
what problems they are facing in managing economic. Tourism may acquired to improve
airports, roads and other infrastructure, which are seems to be more costly. Many countries have
risk in becoming too dependent with tourism, it is usually not so advantageous for economy of
host terminus.
Benefits of sustainable tourism development
According to Danish and Wang, (2018), sustainable tourism bring more money for
country. There is probably main benefits and may be main reason for developing UK country.
Generating income make more profits along with have importance in local, private and domestic
incomes. Tourism can take full account to its future moreover current economic, also addressing
social and environmental. As per Kristjánsdóttir, Ólafsdóttir and Ragnarsdóttir, (2018), such
benefits can be in sustainable when money come from travellers is mostly directed to local
communities, might be opposed to large corporation and sometime can be see changes in
probably highly experienced tourism. They are often to share information while originate in
addition to have their fun tour. Argued by He, He and Xu, (2018), small communities are often
to have main focused on community improvements with generating their incomes. For example,
such types of initiative that community saving groups who are in villages serve with having
microloans, infrastructure of schools and buildings along with some other electric facilitates
existing need to be more improved.
Ruhanen, Moyle and Moyle, (2019), contradicted that small communities are investing
more for having more possible experience in their location, because they have direct benefits to
local communities in UK and also allowing them to be become more self-sufficient. It provides
means of inducement for expend substructure in rails network, local medicals and education

systems have been improved. As per Qiu Zhang and et.al., (2017), says that, tourism are often to
have damage their environmental which risks to pollution, loss of natural resources etc. It may
also lead to quite jobs that are commonly seasonal and secures with having no benefits, no sick
pay or healthcare. In some areas there are more visitors due to that many employees are more
busy and sometime inaccessible for many of times. Zhang and Chan, (2020), viewed that tourism
sector like TUI sometime become more dependence that forms of other income generation are
neglected furthermore economic can be also dependence on their income of sources. They also
make major profits moreover try to leave local business in having their more benefits.
According to Santos-Roldán and et.al., (2020), sustainable tourism also follows direction
of leaving destination better when they have found it. While one combines come together and try
to contribute their financial conditions more and allow them to have directly to local
communities. In having these tourisms sector many of peoples got their jobs due to Covid-19, as
how they have also increased their wages more than what they have before. On other hand Jamal
and Higham, (2021), sates that in having sustainable tourism as they also increase international
connection with other developed countries along with that they also come to know about what
culture they are using. It promotes more cross cultural awareness for both domestic and
international plus they build bridges in getting understand towards their countries. As per
Østergaard, Johannsen and Duic, (2020), said that human welfare is all about having more
respects at local culture and always try to support them in positive ways furthermore they should
ave some positive impacts on them. Hence, animals welfare is becoming more and more
important as travelling thinking that positive ways while by supporting them in trying to protect
animals habitat rather than not taking part in some unethical tourism in animals.
Strategies of sustainable development that can have positive socio- cultural, environmental and
economic impacts
According to Papageorgiou and Demetriou, (2019), strategies in sustainable development
might be ensured to responsible while in developing their economic strategies in protecting their
base along with benefits for future generations. Sustainable development sometime also helps
UK for making more creation with having their strategies, and they also more tourisms in which
they can easily earn more amount of money. While having huge profits they can easily make
infrastructure for education, healthcare and medical for villages either includes poverty lines. On

other hand Lee and Seo, (2018), formulated some strategies such as possession with other
countries, leadership and group action in developing their countries. In ensuring sustained
benefits have impacts on limitations and margins out their future goals. Building on existing
procedures rather than having one additional that could be in sometime occurrent and
cohesiveness. As per Dimitriou and Sartzetaki, (2020), said that environmental issue key is to be
determinant and reduction of poverty. As they have also started in setting many more strategies
that make develop large profits and try to build up their countries economic growth. In hotels
social culture will be followed meanwhile they need to adopted their own countries cultural
because when they used some other countries culture that could be more harmful for them. In
developing heir countries governments has to set more tourism places for their tourists in which
they can visit and give that countries more income of sources.
MacNeill and Wozniak, (2018), contradicted that there is specific opportunities for
promoting better integration and some other issues in poverty reducing strategies, as endorse for
developing more and more with their building more strategies towards their environmental,
social and economic. They have proper source of income in UK while taking advantage of
tourism sector they can have more support in developing them along with their poverty. As per
Bianchi, (2018), states that due to having pandemic they are most affected in the sector of
sustainability development because many of peoples have been stopped in travelling and booking
their resorts in some other countries as they have fear of Covid-19. Most losses goes to tourism
sector in which they need to make their more strategies so that upcoming year they might have
more profits.
According to Cooper and Alderman (2020), having more strategies in monitoring their
social, environment and economic condition and leads to be better in the future. In taking
together this basic of sustainability development, have to set up different ways and instruments
for which changes can be made easily and try to handle every situation in their UK sector. On
other hand Cheer (2020), says that, emerging into society and with private sector in stakeholder
with having some planning along with decision-making. This must improves in improving
technology skills and countries quality that could attract their environment and make more
tourists place from them. As per Bashir, Benjiang and Shahzad (2020), states that, it helps in
observing problems between various groups of stakeholder furthermore as they try to make some
developments skills which are to increase. Stakeholders play important role in developing their

more strategies which could help them in making their countries more sustainability

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Type
Here types of research such as Quantitative and Qualitative research. In Qualitative
studies aspects of research subjects is not being done in measurements and quantifiable. It is used
to understand thoughts, concepts and experienced plus also enables to gather information in
depth of topics. They have some common concepts including open-ended questions,
questionnaire either in words. Quantitative research means expressed in the forms of numbers
and groups. Mainly it is used to conform assumptions and theories. These concepts include some
methods as surveys, experiments etc. In this research scholar have used Qualitative in which they
have collected information or gather data while by using open-minded questions. As this is
important because it is easy in collecting data and can simply capture attitudes within targeting
their consumer of group in particular sector. It has no conjugate by terminal point and supply
much more flexible approaches (Kumar,2018). Observation gives direct information along with
that give appropriate data about sustainable developments topics.
Research Approach
Inductive and deductive are research approaches. Inductive means theories, observing
and proposed towards the end of research paper. It mostly helps in collecting data along with
altering direction of study in formulating questions. Deductive is based on hypotheses data and
try to design their research approaches strategy while by testing data at hypotheses. This
approach take short time for researching plus try to avoid risk. Scholar have used inductive
approaches for moving best towards their studies on sustainability tourism developments with
having abstract in observation and creation. It is important for using inductive approaches in
formulating simple questions furthermore objectives. The main aims for using this is to
assembling data in order to determine theory and relation structure (Ledford,2018). As this
approaches is based on acquisition while by having experience, patterns moreover they are being
observed to reach out conclusion of study.

There are three types of philosophy research which are present which are positivism,
realism and interpretivism which are going to be considered in this research type. These
philosophy help in developing the knowledge, nature and assumption which are going to be
present. Realism research is the real data which can be collected and there is collection of ideas
and believes as well which are going to be included whereas in positivism research is the social
world understanding which one can have. For this research there is a use of interpretivism
research type so that there is going to be a good detailed and lesser problems which are going to
rise as well which is going to make the functioning and decision-making higher. On the bases of
the problems there are going to be data collected and issues are going to be solved effectively so
that there are going to be higher performance.
Research Design
A detail overall research so that there is going to be higher functioning and right
strategies and approaches which can be discussed upon. There are two types of researches which
are present which are qualitative and qualitative researches to be able to collect the right data so
that there are further decisions which can be made (Xie, 2019). Qualitative research are going to
include frameworks, models which are theoretical and other researches so that there are going to
be higher functioning. Quantitative researches are collecting a lot of information to make sure
that there are right channels which can be used for the future as well. There is a use of qualitative
research which is going to be used so that there is going to be effective understanding and
outcome of the research is going to be effective.
Data Collection
Data collection is very important so that there is going to be a good identification of
information and overall objective of the research can be defined. There are two types of
collecting data which are primary and secondary data which can be used in research. Primary
data is going to be taken directly through personal interviews, personal resources, information,
etc. so that there is going to be a better idea and no miscommunication in the data which is being
collected. Secondary data is collected from indirect sources of the direct source which can be
moulded for entertainment or any factor which can make the aims and objectives of the research
be affected and that is not going to make the outcome of the researcher be present (Zawacki-
Richter and et.al., 2020).
Sampling
Document Page
To be able to collect the data there has to be sampling as well so that the research is going
to have a right direction which would be present. Secondary data is going to include sampling
from different sources so that there is going to be higher operations and performance which can
be decided. There are 30 people including employees of TUI so that there is going to be right
understanding which is going to be present. There are two types of sampling which are
probability and non probability and the one which has been used for this report is probability
which is that there was no discrimination or bias while doing this research which makes the
outcomes even better.
Data Analysis
It is after all the data which is collected there has to be good interpretation which needs to
be done so that there is going to be good collection of information which is going to be present.
The techniques which are going to be used for the analyses and interpretation are going to be
qualitative, quantitative, text, statistical and diagnostic analysis. Theoretical form, is present in
qualitative analyses which is going to be very helpful for getting the right information and there
is going to be higher performance and operations which can be decided for the company.
Diagnostic analysis is going to make the evaluation be higher channelizes the techniques which

to be present so that there is going to be better achievement and aims are going to be achieved on
time so that there are going to be higher conducted researcher which is going to be out.
Ethical Consideration
Following the ethical considerations is very important for the researcher so that there is a
code of ethics which is going to be present. There are direct principles which are involved in this
process which is that there is going to be justice, informed consent, confidentiality, data
protection, etc. of the participants which are going to be involved in this research. There has to
be good behaviour, valid sources, ethical consent which were taken so that there is going to be
higher functioning. No bias, stolen data or declaration was skipped by the researcher so that there
is going to be higher understanding and interpretation can be authentic which is going to be a
great factor and good for a long run as well (Healey, 2017).

DATA ANALYSIS
Data analyses is conducted so that there is going to be higher information which can be
taken out which is going to make the end outcome more powerful by the researcher. Systematic
breakdown concept is a concept which is going to make the information be extracted easily
which is going to make the decision-making for the businesses easier. The interpretation is going
to make the decisions more accurate and fruitful to be understood effectively. Thematic method

FINDINGS/ RESULT
The major findings from the above methodology is that there are a lot of negative and
positive impact on the population, environment, economy and society which is observed. TUI
tourism is trying to make sure that there are right actions which are being taken so that there is
going to be effective working which is going to be present. There is a lot of growth in the
population's income level and their minds as well when they come across different cultures and
beliefs. A lot of ideas also generate when there are people coming together to understand this
aspect (Collison and Marchesseault, 2018). The development of the country is also visible by the
government so that this industry can be supported which is going to be very helpful for a long
run. Strategies have to be adapted by the industry so that they can improve for having
sustainability in the market which is going to be very good for a long run. The locals are
benefiting from this industry which is that there is good protection of local activities like wildlife
and other factors. There is a growth in the local products sales as well which is going to make the
performance ad living of the people be improved which is going to be good for the growth.
There are a lot of improvement which the tourism industry will have to make so that the
customers are going to be well satisfied and so is the population be in favour of this industry. It is
important for the company to have the right idea about the negative affects that are being created
by TUI tourism company. Impact on the environment is negative due to a lot of tourism which is
taking place that needs to be well maintained and analysed so that there is going to be higher
operations. TUI industry has made sure that they are not being bias in any way possible and
treating all the people equally. There is a lot of awareness which can be spread out by the people
which is going to be a great factor. The locals are losing their value and beliefs which is taking
away the unique identity of the location which needs to be well maintained.
CONCLUSION
From the research it can be concluded that there is a need for the tourism industry to find
the right methods and measures to be able to operate effectively which is going to make the
performance increase. The environmental harm which is being created by tourism industry has to
be worked upon so that there is going to be higher sustainability. Population of the country has to
be in favour of tourism which is taking place so that there is going to be better operations which

is going to make the reputation be increased. When there is a support from the locals about
tourism then the industry can develop otherwise the tourists will not want to invest in this factor.
The locals are being boosted and that is making the lifestyles and minds of the people develop
which is going to be very helpful. Major fact about this research is that there are a lot of
environmental harms which are present and that needs to be worked upon so that there is going
to be effective working which is going to be present. Tourism industry will have to improve so
that there is going to be higher brand value and reputation which they can have which is going to
make more tourists come in the organization and that is going to make the standards be higher.
RECOMMENDATION
There are a lot of strategies which are present in the market and country to be able to
have a safer working which is going to be more profitable. There are a lot of investment and
budgets which will have to be developed so that there is going to be effective working and
operations which are going to be present. Cost beneficial methods which will have to be
developed so that there is going to be effective growth of tourism industry in the market. Ideas
have to be developed so that there can be effective right standards and acceptance in the market
can be present. Solution for the environment damage is that the tourists which are coming in
have to be aware about the resources and other aspect so that there is going to be a well
maintained environment in the country. Management of TUI will have to make sure that the
population of the country are getting the positive outcome from sustainability of this industry
which is going to be good for a long run.
REFLECTION
From this research methodology there is a lot of growth which I have got from this and
that is that there are a lot of improvement which are present. Experience and knowledge which I
have gained from this research about the tourism industry is huge which is a great factor. There
were a lot of troubles which I faced while doing this research since I had little knowledge and
had to research a lot on the topic so that the results and outcomes would match my expectations
and standards which I have set (da Silva, 2017). The objectives and aims have to be set so that
they are achievable which is going to make the functioning and end result effective. There were a

lot of details about the tourism industry which I was not aware about but that came in me and
observation about this industry was high while I did this research.
Changes are coming in the tourism industry which have to be considered while doing the
report so that there is going to be higher understanding. Time management was a skill which
lacked while doing this report because data analysis took a lot of time and that made the
scheduling for all the other activities get disturbed which is not a good factor (Chakraborty and
Ledwani, 2017). The end result was satisfying for me because this was the first time I did this
report of research which was in detailed understanding and use of right skill was very important
for me to have. Planning is a skill which I developed and that is going to be very helpful for me
to have for a long run. I would like to manage my time around the data analyses so that there is
going to be higher satisfaction which is going to be present for a long run which is going to be a
great factor. I also have to work as a team so that there is going to be better satisfaction which is
going to be present and also make sure that there is effective working which is going to be
present so that the next research is going to be achieved successfully (Xu, Widjaja and Ferguson,
2019).
