2BUS140 Statistic AssignmentIntroduction College football has become gained large popularity in the last hundred years, this means head coaches payment has increased so has the revenue the team creates. A study do by Berkowitz and Upton showed in Division 1 college football coaches baes salaries have increased in recent years; TV contracts and media exposure have led to surge in college football popularity. As a result, universities have increased their revenue streams as well as increased successful coaches’ pay. However, with greater income means there is greater expectation, failure to live up the expectation has led to large turnover rates in coaches. (Berkowitz & Upton, 2012)Coaches are pick and paid through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) regulations. Coaches are picked based upon their talent, typically on a four-year contract. (Byrd, Mixon and Wright, 2013)This experiment looks at the payment and revenues for college football and see if there is a central tendency, dispersion and shape in the football coach’s salary and the revenue the colleges make. This report will also look at the correction between the coach’s salary and the revenue colleges make. The data collected is second-hand data from the USA today. Thisdata shows the 2019 National Collegiate Athletic Association Football (NCAAF) coaches’ salaries from the 150 different colleges in America. Results From the data we were given the following information: the head coaches, the colleges, conferences, the head coaches college pay, other pay, total pay, max bonus and football netrevenue. There are 105 different universities, therefore 105 different sets of data. From the head coaches pay the mean is 1547898, the median is 1260000, the mode is 1600000 and the range is 50666667.This is the results from the histogram for Coaches pay (figure 1).When you look at the graph the data is distrusted evenly through the graph, but it is still classed as a right-skewed graph.
