INTRODUCTION
Higher education plays an important role in developing effective career opportunities for an
individual. It is very much crucial for a person to pursue higher education and gain career growth
in life (Byrne, 2020). The skills in higher education are important in order to gain competitive
advantage in life. In this project assessment of assessment of an article is performed in order to
answer several questions which are related to academic life. In this report a healthy research is
also conducted in order to explain different aspects related to academics. This report also
contains assessment of different skills of student which are helpful in universities and at
workplace. There are also six recommendations that could help student improve content of their
CVs.

Three listening challenges in academic life
In academic life when teachers perform teaching functions, several times students are
unable to understand fully what teacher is exactly delivering through lecture. Speed of delivery is
one of the major challenges which are faced by students in their academic life related to
listening. In institutes, most of the times when teachers deliver lecture in classrooms, their
teaching speed of words is majorly very fast. This creates a learning gap between teacher and
students; it is considered as one of the major issue which is considered as major challenge related
to listening. Secondary problem in academic life related to teaching is accent of teacher which
creates a major obstacle for students in the field of learning. In most of the cases at universities,
accent of teachers is different due to several factors which majorly impacts on learning process.
Differences in accent occur due to geographical location of different teachers who are teaching in
institutes. Vocabulary is another challenge in academic life for students related to listening, it is
recommended for the teachers to use good vocabulary in institutes. Vocabulary power plays an
important role in the development of personality and necessary skills of students by improving
several skills. In most of the institutes this is one of the major problems which are faced by
students in order to learn effectively (Cotronei-Baird, 2020). These three are major problems
which are faced by students while learning in institutes as they create major obstacles in the
learning development.

Three strategies teachers can use to help students improve their listening skills
In academic life, students must improve their listening skills in order to develop their
learning and personality. It is important for students to improve their listening skills in order to
gain competitive advantage in their academic life. Teachers can use power point presentation in
classrooms in order to teach students effectively with help of power point slides. In the era of
information and technology, it is essential to use power point presentation in order to teach
students in a precise manner. Most of the institutions in today’s world are using power point
presentation in order to teach students in a precise manner. Teachers can also install projectors in
classrooms to teach subjects to students in order to develop their knowledge. In academic life
related to higher education, it is important for institutes to install projectors in classrooms for
effectively teaching in the campus. Teachers should use high quality sound systems in order to
improve the listening skills. In institutes, it is recommended for teachers to perform various
methods which are helpful in increasing the listening skills of students. It is also recommended
for the management to lead the learning activities (Ghanizadeh, 2017). The management of every
concerned institute should formulate effective strategies in order to facilitate listening skills in
students. In the development of mental strength in students, it is effective and precise for
students to implement various strategies that are helpful in increasing listening skills. The
management of concerned institute should perform time to time assessment of performance of
individuals in order to check their learning skills in a precise manner.
Self faced listening challenges and how to deal with them
I have faced several challenges in the field of learning in my institution which has caused
lack of some knowledge in me. I always try to improve my learning skills in order to gain precise
knowledge about a subject. I face difficulty when teacher speaks very fast in the classroom; this
practice which is generally performed by teacher creates an obstacle for me when I try to learn
something. I also face difficulty while understanding vocabulary of teachers when they speak in
classroom. I try to pay maximum attention towards teacher’s vocabulary but because of lack of
listening skills it is hard for me to understand vocabulary which is delivered. I face difficulty
when teachers deliver lectures in a good speed; it is difficult for me to understand several aspects
of subjects. I try to note down important points in my notebook, but it becomes hard for me to
note down every point due to speed of the lecture. In order to improve my listening skills, I try to
take support of teachers and management continuously. I prefer to adopt effective techniques of
