This section provides an appraisal of the strengths and weaknesses of the presentation of the statistical material in Weston et al (2019) against items 10, 12-17 of STROBE guidelines. The study focuses on the impact of long work hours and weekend working on depressive symptoms in men and women based on a UK population-based study. The authors complied with most of the guidelines, except for item 12d regarding the basis of segregation for cross-sectional studies. The study provides valuable insights into the association between work hours and depression.
