written by the Mem Fox and the illustrations done by Ronojoy Ghosh. In this book, the history of
Australia has been portrayed along with the heritage that it preserves on the basis of multi-
cultural aspects (Dudek, 2018). The historical factors of the immigration have also been
discussed in this book. The elements in the book are really fascinating and it has been written in
the rhyming verse. The lesson that the book gives is that all the people are Australians
irrespective of their ethnic background, their home culture and their skin color. Multiculturalism
is the main purpose behind writing this book and it has been reflected through the characters of
the book.
Before going through this book it is really very important to know about the way in
which the author has described Australia using a globe. In this context he describes Australia as
an island which needs a boat or plane to reach. People from different regions come here and gets
settle down on this island. While continuing the reading of this book it was further discovered
that there were stunning or outstanding illustrations were made by the author which very cleverly
represents the deeds of the families in relation to the Australian acts such as swimming, walking
and watching the fireworks.

impactful on the children. The targeted readers of this book are mainly the children aged up to 5.

picture book and the characters of the book have been presented through the cartoon like figures.
This kind of simple language has often been very much influential to catch the attractions of the
children of the lower classes (Dudek, 2018). This is why this book has an exceptional value in
front of the children. The parents can also help the children to learn the important lessons in the
book and know about the theme of the book. The inhabitants of Australia have enjoyed this book
and the illustrations in this book are really perfect. The use of short and simple sentences and
easy to catch words is the main factors of the success of this book (Merga & Roni, 2018).
The theme of the book is really very interesting and it has been one of the most
successful themes to catch the attractions of the book. The original inhabitants of the Island were
mainly the aboriginal and Torres Strait islanders. These people had been subjected to great
tortures by the British colonists’ time and again. After these bad times, all the Australian people
came together and joined their hands so they could work together and strive for the excellence of
