Introduction
Different models, techniques, tools or concepts of work improvement plays a significant role in
enhancing the work performance of the organizations. The primary purpose of the paper is to
discuss various models, techniques, tools or concepts of work improvement that will help
Vodacom to improve the organizational activities and achieve the desired objective. The models,
techniques, tools or concepts that will be discussed further will help the company to understand
the needs and wants of the consumers and employees. It will help the company to provide better
solutions to its customers that will enhance its economic growth.
Overview of Vodacom
Vodacom Group Limited is determined to be a South African mobile communication company
that provides converged and data services along with voice and messaging to 55 million
consumers. The company operates its business in various locations such as Lesotho,
Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania. The total number of employees
employed within the organization is near about 7,554 (Home | Vodacom Group. 2019). Its
current revenue is estimated to be R86.370 billion. The company aims to clear market share
leadership within all the markets through the best distribution and segmented offerings. It also
aims to enhance its economic growth by creating a decent work environment.
Different concepts help Vodacom to achieve their desired goals
Vodacom uses various concepts/tools or techniques to execute its organizational activities
smoothly and maintain its position within the market. However, to improve its work performance
and to achieve the desired goals, the company is needed to implement different
techniques/tools/concepts or models which are as follows.
Activity sampling
Activity sampling is considered to be a statistical technique that helps in determining the amount
of time spent by the employees in different activities. This technique is important as it will
enable Vodacom to execute quick analysis, organizational workflows, performance
competencies, tasks, enhancement of job responsibilities and recognition. It will also help the
company to determine the standard time for executing a manual manufacturing task. This
particular technique will enable Vodacom to monitor the activities of multiple employees instead
