Factors Promoting Effective Team Work in M&S

Introduction
 In this presentation, discussion is
made on the factors through which
effective team can be developed
within organization. Here, M&S has
been focused and information with
regards to group formation and
dynamics are includes.

Nature of Groups
There are basically 4 types of groups that been found at M&S. These
are as follows:
 Formal Group: This act as a team which is been developed by
management for executing the work.
 Informal Group: This set of group is developed by employee itself.
 Primary Group: It is a small group that makes interaction on
regular basis so that barriers and difficulties can be identified and
same can be overcome.
 Secondary Group: When employees of different outlets come
together for building relationship, then it is termed as secondary
group. M&S conducts party for developing same.

Following are the step which are involved in selecting team
members:
 Management should understand the task and should
identifying the skills which will be required in
compleating the task.
 Discussion should be made with the head staffs and the
employees regarding the individuals who possess the
relevent skills.
 All the selected workers should be rated according to
their communication skills and abilities, it should be done
by the supervisors.
 All employees who possess the required skills should be
listed out for the development of the team.
 After developing team, members should be conveyed that
that the team consist of employees with all the required
skills. This will help them in boosting up.
 Personal clashes should be avoided.
