2ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOURIntroductionPersonality encompasses the relatively stable feelings of a person considering thethoughts and behavioral patterns. Everyone possesses the unique characteristic, which is the keyto differentiate the individual within an organisation (Leutner et al., 2014). The reflection of thepersonality traits determines the reaction of the individual during the emergence of diversesituation. When we seek the effectiveness while performing the organisational functionalities, itis necessary for us to understand the behavioral attributes of the employees. It helps themanagers to allocate the jobs appropriately to the suitable people. In this study, I shall undertakethe VASL survey to assess my values and identify the factors that influence my perceptions.Furthermore, I shall undertake the personality test for describing my employment traits that Ineed to maintain for ensuring success. The motivational attributes would also be described in thisstudy to manage the effectiveness within the workplace. ValuesIt is quite difficult to assess the values of an individual, especially when the values areinfluenced by many factors (Judge & Zapata, 2015). SBI Consulting Business Intelligence hasdeveloped the VALS topology that assesses one’s values on the basis of their personality. Afterconducting the VALS survey test, I have identified that I belong to the group of Experiencers inthe primary topology. The members of this group are usually the first ones to adopt the latesttrends and they seek everything that is new. They usually go against the current mainstream andalways up for the latest fashion trends. They are more interested in being engaged into thephysical activities. Their value assessment also indicates that they are very sociable and

If I assess my values with these traits, I can observe that I possess majority of the traits asan experiencer. Firstly, I am quite fashion-prone and try out latest fashions. I prefer to experienceevery new thing that would bring some excitement into my life. I like to make friends andprioritizing them in my life. I find myself very sociable, which is determined by my larger socialcircle. I like to communicate with different people since I seek much knowledge about theirculture and their background. It always motivates me to broaden my knowledge and experiencethe lessons. I have observed that the traits described for an experiencer indicate that they goagainst the current mainstream and they seek everything. These traits are quite surprising for mesince I cannot find the similarities in these traits. I need to concentrate on my behavioural traitsthat would help me in achieving my dreams. Communicating with the people and making themcomfortable during the conversation provide me the opportunity to explore their nature andcharacteristics. It is quite helpful for me to know people, their diversified nature and values, andlearn about their preferences. I maintain a good balance between my emotions and the practicalsituation. I would like to understand the situation and react accordingly. It would help me instrengthening my interpersonal communication skills. It is true that I seek information in everynew incident I come across, but I do not go against the current mainstream. I always try tomaintain the balance in my life. I believe too much of something might become harmful forpeople. Therefore, I always prefer to take time before assuming and I like to take things slowlyand patiently. My secondary trait is the innovators, which are quite sophisticated, successful, and heyvalue the personal growth. I can relate my characteristics with the innovators. Similar to the

4ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOURinnovators, I have the wider intellectual interests. Before assuming anything, I prefer to derivethe adequate information about the very event. As their trait specifies, I am also quite concernedabout the social issues. As an innovator, I am confident, optimistic, involved, growth-oriented,and open or flexible to change. I am even finer receptive when it comes to adopt any newcircumstance. I have noticed that I am quite adaptive towards the emergence of the technologiesand new business scenario. It helps me in growing more in this frequently advanced world. However, among all these traits, I am surprised to notice that the innovators are politically veryactive. If I judge personal view, I am not so much involved with the political discussions. I dotake interests in any political subjects. Therefore, it is quite surprising for me since I do notpossess this trait as an innovator. However, I am quite confident about my abilities and flexibilitythat are mostly needed in this contemporary world. In the VALS experiment, I have identified some of the traits or characteristics of theindividuals. There are different types of individuals based on their values, such as innovators, thinkers, achievers, experiencer, and believers. I have gathered knowledge about the diversepersonalities and traits the individuals possess. Among these traits, I have found out theinnovators are the ones who are easily managed. The current world is rapidly changing and theinnovations are much common to this contemporary world. Both the business and educationsectors are driven by the innovations and advancements in process. It is thus necessary tobecome an adaptive individual in this rapidly changing scenario. The innovators are muchflexible and adaptive towards change. They tend to try new things that bring advancements intothe world. This trait is quite significant in considering the fast pace of the worldly events. On theother hand, it has been seen that the achievers are the ones who believe in achieving goals andkeep the smaller circle. People having these traits are more likely moderate in nature and they

5ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOURavoid the excess change. In spite of having the positive responses towards life, the achievers aremore likely attracted towards the premium values. Hence, they are not much flexible towardsdiverse situations. Therefore, I can imply that the achievers are quite difficult to manage.Especially, in a world, where the fast growing technologies, business processes, and demands arerapidly changing, the perception of the achievers is quite hard to be considered. The above assessment identifies my values as an innovator and experiencer. Theconcentration on these traits generates the ideas about the diverse personality traits and moralvalues to ensure personal growth. I need to concentrate on my behavioural traits that would helpme in achieving my dreams. I need to be cautious while communicating with others. I am alwaysfocused on my language and gestures to make others comfortable. My positivity would lead mefurther in life and protect me from negative influences. The further section of the study wouldanalyze the diverse personality traits of the individuals in terms of dealing with the emergingsituations. The identification of the diverse personality of the people would also ensure theirreaction towards the emerging scenario. I have undertaken an interview session in which one of my colleagues took theparticipation. In interviewed him to know what similarities and differences we have in ourpersonality traits. I have observed that while I am quite fashion prone and like to try the updatedfashion segment whenever I come across any of it. However, going opposite to my nature, it isnoticed that my colleague would like to accept the fashion trend, but would like to continue thefashion even when it is replaced by new trends. On the other hand, I have found similaritiesbetween us as well. I have found out that both of us like to maintain the balance between thepracticality and the emotions. I always seek information before assuming anything. My colleaguealso likes to judge the situation and gather information before presenting any assumptions about
