Task 1-Academic Integrity As a student advisor at Torrens University Australia, it is my responsibility to provide detailed information and advice about the Academic Integrity Policy to students who have just begun their studies. The aim of this policy is to promote discipline as well as help students practice independence, honesty, and responsibility in their learning process. Academic integrity refers to a range of fundamental qualities related to the moral values and dignity that a student must possess, which are honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and a sense of responsibility in achieving goals in the learning process (Academic Integrity Policy, 2021, p. 2). Academic Integrity considered important to students since it firstly a fundamental value that orient to your success as a student. Secondly, if a student cheats while studying or taking exams, it means they are depriving themselves of the opportunity to learn, practice and improve their knowledge. Thirdly, a student who keeps a habit of cheating will lower his self-worth, when discovered, he will lose prestige in others' eyes. The violations of this policy are including plagiarism, ask others for help to do the exam, assist other students to do their test, either directly or indirectly. Depend on the case of violation, will be evaluated by the Program Director or authorized person to issue different penalties. Penalties include recording the violation in the student's file, warning, downgrade the mark, unsatisfactory appraise on the offending test, suspension (Academic Integrity, 2021, p. No matter in the society or the collective working environment, an individual with integrity will create sympathy, improve self-worth, prestige, and the eyes of colleagues and customers. With integrity, we can handle tasks, solving issues confidently, independently, without relying on others. Moreover, an honest, integrity person will easily create relationships, open many doors to bring successful opportunities for their career. Task 2- Achieving Academic Success By researched the information from The Kolb Learning Style Inventory and compared, I was able to identify my learning style as Reflecting. Reflecting illustrates the ability to watch and listen, collect, and mull over information then consider them from multiple perspectives before making a final decision (Peterson and Kolb's, 2017, p. 32). As for myself, I will develop my listening skill as well as practice my thinking and analytical ability. At the same time, it also necessary for me to practice the habit of seeking knowledge not only in books but also in the surrounding life. Aside, time management is also a key element that determines our success. A student who knows how to manage time in the right way will learn more effectively. Since they can allocate their study hours reasonably and have time to develop their other learning skills. In the working process, an excellent time manager has chances to accomplish more work at the same period. According to Feldman (2009, p. 10) critical thinking is considered a factor that contributes to a student' success. It refers to abilities to question, analyze and evaluate situations, problems, or arguments, to bring out the best suitable options. answer. As a student, I will improve my critical thinking ability by actively exploring, asking questions about issues that I cannot understand. I should
analyse and judge to consider all facets of the problem thoroughly. Moreover, I must carefully consider my options and figure all possible scenarios. If I want to be successful, I must practice perseveringly. Task 3- Model of Business Communication In business, communication illustrates the ability to convey messages, the ability to interact with colleagues and customers. It is a key element to determines the success of today's organization. In ranges of models of business communication, the Linear model of communication and the Interactive model of communication is considered certain influences. According to Ashman (2018) the Linear communication model defined as a straightforward process that the sender transmits messages to the receiver passively without receiving the responds or being delay while receive it. This model is commonly preferred to apply across businesses to assist communication activities with customers such as marketing, sales, and PR since it easy to use. The Interactive communication model is considered an improvement of the Linear model, in which messages are sent and received from both sides, from senders to receivers and vice-versa (Wood, pp. 17-18). In business, this model helps to promote the interaction between individual, enhance the solidarity between colleagues through collaboration, interaction, and criticism activities. However, this model can transform back to Linear in case there are no responses. In communication, also exist some barriers which influence its success. Differences in culture and language are the biggest barriers, it relates most to the place the speaker came from. A business cannot run smoothly if the people inside cannot collaborate or understand what others saying. Poor communication ability is also a barrier, reason came from a lack of confidence and vocabulary, thus the speaker cannot spread out their ideas (Drexel University, 2018). To overcome these barriers requires a long training process.
