Evidence selection
Each study analyses the effectiveness of acupuncture by different research
methodologies. Tousignant-Laflamme et al., (2017) performed a randomized
control trial for determining differences of duration of analgesia after 15minutes
and 30 minutes of acupuncture like TENS on the patients with chronic low pain.
Another study was conducted to score the trajectory of pain and high quality
RCT has been organised by the authors (MacPherson et al., 2017).
Effectiveness of acupuncture for chronic pain has been discussed in another
article with systematic review (Yin, Buchheit& Park, 2017). Randomised control
trial is one of the best levels of evidence in research as this includes
experimental studies. One of the selected paper focuses on RCT for studying
the effect of acupuncture in patients for two different period of time. Whereas
another study is based on meta-analysis and systematic review which is level 1
type of evidence in researches. Systematic review and meta-analysis can result
better perspective on effects of acupuncture in enhancing the health condition of
patients with chronic pain. AL-TENS can influence the clinical and statistical
result of analgesia in patients of chronic pain management. However another
study shows that acupuncture can be useful to treat not only chronic low back
pain but also any neck shoulder and other joint pains. According to a study
acupuncture is as effective as the opioids and the operative settings (Yin,

Evidence summary
Introduction
The selected articles are focused on the treatment based on acupuncture
in chronic pain management. The summary of key results and contrast of the
different evidences in the articles are described.
Discussion
Specific lower back pain can be treated by AL-TENS application for 15
and 30 minutes into different sessions. Researchers assessed the level of
chronic lower back pain by visual analogue scale before and after the
application of AL-TENS. The report represent that 15 and 30 minutes AL-TENS
application can be statistical significance for reducing analgesia among the
patients with chronic pain. Researchers assessed level of chronic pains before
and after the 15 minutes and 30 minutes application of AL-TENS sessions on
the respective participants(Tousignant-Laflamme et al., 2017). It has been
observed that 9 hours of for 15 minutes application and 10.5 hours of 30
minutes application of all tense can reduce the chronic pain among patience.
61 research papers were retrieved for systematic analysis of a study for
assessing the pain management level by using acupuncture. Systematic review
and meta-analysis were performed to observe the analgesic effect during the
uses of non invasive non pharmacologic therapy for lower back pain with long
term effect. Effect of acupuncture in lower back pain is compared with the

treatment 4 chronic knee pain with the short term pain reduction session in this
study(Yin, Buchheit & Park, 2017). In a preoperative setting 10 RCT performed
for 700 craniotomy patient to show that acupuncture is effective in analgesia for
decreasing intro for dating anesthetics and mechanical ventilation in ICU.
Different methods of stimulation due to acupuncture on different body surface
points includes micro current electricity low level laser and periosteal needling.
This traditional practice of acupuncture has effect on clinical use and integration
in the medical training which can offer better clinical facility to reduce many
health related problems. The study also discusses with points and acupuncture
in details.
A study report shows that effect of acupuncture compared to no
acupuncture for chronic pain do not result a significant decline in the level of
chronic pain for a period of 12 months (MacPherson et al., 2017). Comparing
the time and the significance of statistical analysis .Contradictions present in the
report of sham acupuncture versus normal acupuncture as over the period of
time difference of efficacy level in different acupuncture style can be nullified.
Very less difference will be reported during the comparative analysis of different
acupuncture methods.
According to MacPherson et al., (2017) a meta-analysis depicts on each
of the patient data from better quality randomized controlled trials of
acupuncture for chronic pain, which set up that acupuncture was superior to
both sham and no acupuncture controls for each pain condition. However, there
were no differences in the benefits for different period of time for trials with
longer versus shorter follow-ups. Different chronic pain management procedures
