Who is the target audience for this proposal? The proposal targets Bella Vista Foundation.
What are the expectations of this grant? Lifelong medical Care is seeking a grant of
$30,003 for the purpose of conducting an
external evaluation of innovative parenting
program referred to as Centering Parenting
Program. The program aims at empowering
women with low income and high-risk to
achieve a strong bond with their infants and
ensure self-efficacy. The grant also aims at
improving the mental and physical health of
the mothers and their infants through
innovative group care model. The grant will
therefore be used to carry out an evaluation to
determine its effectiveness over the past one
year.
Are the objectives well defined? Why or why
not?
No. The proposal highlights the need for
evaluation of Centering parenting program
but does not indicate the specific objectives

that the evaluation exercise needs to achieve.
The objectives should be specific and
achievable because they will be used to
determine whether the project succeeded or
failed (Sternberg (Ed.), 2013). It is therefore
critical that the proposal reevaluates it`s
objectives in regard to the evaluation and
determine exactly what it wants to achieve.
What are the strengths of the grant proposal?
What makes this proposal “good”?
One of the strengths of the proposal is its
presentation of organizational background
and the overview of the program. The
presentation of the proposal is very clear and
logical. It highlights data on when the history
of Lifelong Medical Care begun. The
proposal also indicates the literature and the
facts which informed the formation of
Centering Parenting Program. The formation
of the program was informed by the need to
extend care offered by Centering Pregnancy
Program. The program extends the care
offered to the group for up to the first year of
the infants’ life. The program was formed due
to the realization that most parents were

detached from their children (Shapiro et al.,
2016). The program was therefore designed to
ensure that parents and their child bond well
for the duration of the first year after birth.
The program has served 52/infants / mothers
within a duration of 15 months.
Another strength of the proposal is that it
shows a connection between the objective of
Centering Parenting Program and the interest
of Bella Vista Foundation (Russell, 2017).
This is a very effective way of convincing
Bella Vista Foundation to offer the grant since
the program is in line with the foundations
objectives and interests.
The other strength of the project is its
evaluation strategy. The program will be
evaluated by group of highly qualified
individuals and hence creating additional
confidence in the project. The evaluation will
also be carried out twice a year and hence
increasing the chances of its success.
The budget of Centered Parenting program is
another strength of this project. This is
