Introduction
Business process improvement (BPI) is a management exercise in which leaders of the
organization adopt different methods and techniques for evaluating their procedure. This is done
for identifying the areas where the accuracy and effectiveness of the procedure will be improved.
The effectiveness and efficiency of the procedure support the leader in redesigning of the
procedure so that improvements will be realized. In this report, “Customer Manufacturing Group
(2010) Using Business Process Improvement Teams to Increase Customer Satisfaction and
Improve Performance. A Customer Manufacturing Group Case Study” is selected. Further, in
this discussion process of business improvement explained in the case study is discussed and
recommendations are provided to improve business improvement procedure.

Business process improvement
The case stud describes that various strategies and steps has to be followed by companies to
improve the business procedure. The various groups has to perform various functions which
includes documented the process map so that individual activities is to be identified and it also
provide information about the department responsibilities. The other strategy which company
can be follow is the time-line charts in which the standard time for the each activity needs to be
identified, this results in increasing corporation among project partner, government agency etc.
The various activities is also be undertaken it is because of identifying all the members which is
required in the team for each activity and to perform each and every procedure (Customer
Manufacturing Group, 2010). The company can also assign the team members for each team so
that each procedure is to be identified.
Further, case studies describes that the companies should use various procedure and framework
to improve the overall business procedure. It is because in which all the meeting schedule is also
described to describe the duties for particular aspects. The leaders also focus on understanding
that roles and responsibilities of the individual are described. The individual can adopt the
strategy of “process-process” to describe their role as well as team role. The strategies are also

discussion. The process can also be improved by developing methodologies in which
redundancies, duplication as well as performance gaps between the departments is identified.
The case study describes the area which can to be focus on while carefully evaluating the
problems and overall business procedure which includes all the value added touch points is
identified. This leads in maintaining it more customers friendly and provide the opportunity to
the leaders to focus on the operation of the company. The other areas which should be focus on
is reducing the waste and adding no value in the internal operations. Therefore, the case study
also demonstrates that it is the most difficult stage to understand the condition in which current
condition of the organization is impacted. Therefore, for this area various policies and practices
for the company is developed and it also support in determining the all the personal belief,
feelings and opinions will should be taken in beginning the process and improving the systems.
The case study also revealed that there are some points which needs to be focus while improving
the business improvement system which includes developing the process framework and
increase communication in the department. So that misunderstanding will be reduced and
activities will be performed with efficiency. Further, the case revealed that companies has to
follow one practices and policies to maintain organizational culture among the employees and
other team members. The company should also remain committed in the total improvement
practices so that it can overcome various issues and support in converting the procedure so that it
can affected in positive manner. For improving the business improvement procedure some
methodologies leads to be followed which includes “process management”, “constraint
analysis”, “continuous improvement” as well as “lean thinking”. This can support in redesigning
the business process and improving the procedure of business.

strategy of implementing the change at small scale; it is because this can support the company to
understand whether change is applicable at entire organization. Through this various steps,
resources and roles as well as responsibilities is also identified (Lohrmann & Reichert, 2016). It
is because of moving from the testing stage to understand the procedure to be included as well as
the shareholders which all involved in implementing the change. This can provide the
information regarding the starting stage of change and implementing stage of change (Martins &
Zacarias, 2017).
Further, business improvement procedure is also undertaken through using different
methodologies that is six sigma in which company can to undergo from various steps which
includes defining, measuring, analyzing, improving and controlling the business improvement
procedure. The companies can use other methodologies which includes lean in which leaders are
going to understand the optimization of the procedure. This strategy leads in increasing the
controlling, analyzing the steps and gaps are identified at regular interval so that necessary
changes takes place according to the needs and requirement of the process and company (Sallos
et al., 2017).
Conclusion
From the above, it is concluded that case describes that companies has to perform various
functions which includes total quality management, constraint analysis etc. It also demonstrates
that leaders should focus on developing the mapping so that roles and responsibilities of the
individual and team leaders in the procedure are described. The case also reveals that continuous
evaluation of the steps take place to understand the present situation and condition of the
procedure. Therefore to overcome this problem leader can focus on using six sigma
methodologies, focusing on the testing stage so that efficiency is maintained in the procedure.
