Section B: Transcript
I am presenting the project completion report that is prepared one week after the
completion of the SIB project. In this presentation, the objectives and the priorities of the
project are discussed along with the changes in the schedule of the project. The presentation
further acknowledges the lesson learnt from the project along with the suggestions for similar
projects in future.
The first three slides of the presentation sheds light to the project objectives and
priorities. The aim is to judge if the objectives and the priorities of the project are met. The
objectives include completion of the project preferably within December 26, 2019,
implementation of the project by complying with IMDBA’s requirement and implementation
of the SIB project with a CPI of at least 1. After the end of the project it is identified that CPI
of the project is 0.97, and the project was completed on January 3, 2020. Therefore, it can be
said that all the objectives and the priorities of the project are not met in execution of the SIB
project.
The next three slides of the presentation discusses about the changes in the schedule
of the project and the contributing events of the schedule change. The implementation of the
SIB project have seen a lot of changes in the schedule. The initial change in the project
schedule occurred while trying to solve the problem of resource over allocation. The next
change in the schedule occurred as an activity took 3 more days to complete in consideration
to the initial estimate of the time required for project completion. Therefore, it can be said
that an improper planning acted as one of the most prominent contributor to the change in the
schedule of the project. However, one of the initial objectives of the project was to complete
the project by within early January 2020, which was fulfilled as the completion date of the
project turned out to be January 3, 2020.
