Digital files of the patient should be constructed to minimize irregular format of presenting
information. Stakeholder plays vital role in developing strategy to achieve mission and
objective of the hospital. Valuable information can be retrieved for processing of financial
performance. There are different vendors who provide IT solution to resolve the problem of
the undertaken hospital.

1 Introduction
Physical and architectural improvement is the basic need of every hospital to provide good
and effective health services to the patients on their demand. St. Cuthbert’s healthcare centre
runs 3 branches of hospital in Australia to serve patients and give them medical assistance as
per their requirement.
Nature
Hospital is arranging programs for home nursing, services to disabled people, daily routine
check-up, clinical services, psychological and mental test, and maternity cases. The motto of
the hospital is to work in the direction of well-being by giving them care and health program.
Communication with the patients helps in improving their emotional, psychological, physical,
mental, moral, and physical strength to fight against the disease (Asadi, 2015). One to one
connection with the patients helps in building good and friendly environment.
Challenges
Quality of services provided to the patients is based on the allocation of beds and managing
flow of patients in the hospital. Hospital management staff is facing problem in handing
patient flow condition, billing program, and discharge program, and inventory availability.
There is no centralisation IT solution which can manage coordination between different
departments of the hospital. All the work regarding registration, allocation of bed, discharge
papers, billing information and management of clinical inventory is carried on papers. There
is no automation in the hospital management system. The hospital centre is looking forward
to develop a centralised hospital management system which helps in managing operations
through IT support automation system.
Constraints
There is no connectivity between different branches of hospital to give quality of services to
the patients. Large amount of paper work is generated from all the branches of St. Cuthbert’s
healthcare centre. Lack of database creates complexities for the hospital staff to give good
services to the patients. There is no regular checking of clinical equipment availability. It is
difficult for the patients and doctors to keep check on the previous health observations
records. Loss of papers and insufficient records will affect the quality of medical services
provided to the patients.

Social and ethical circumstances
It is required to focus on the social and ethical circumstances to manage coordination
between working team of the hospital. Privilege is to give upon the ethical code of ethics
which is to be followed in the working curriculum of the hospital so that equal treatment
facilities can be provided to the patients. It is the social responsibility of the hospital staff to
manage allocation of beds on the availability and flow of patients in the three branches of the
healthcare centre.
Environmental Scan
Hospital management staff had taken step to resolve the problem of handling paper work by
designing Patient administration system (PAS) and Care Stream radiology system. Patient
administration system keeps automation in the administration process for the allocation of
bed. There are some limitation of this system such as it does not keeps the details of clinical
inventory required per patients, billing information, discharge details, and their medical
records. Care stream radiology department is constructed for diagnosing patient reports and
keeping details of pathology test. There is disadvantage of these systems that they do not
work under the common platform. Centralized control over the working process of hospital is
not kept which creates complexities in managing patient entire information (Anderson, 2015).
Marketing strategy of the hospital requires an innovative program which helps in managing
flaws and obscure of current working system so that patients get attracted towards quality of
service provided to them. St. Cuthbert’s healthcare centre is looking forward to design
common centralized system which develops database for getting required information of
patient health records, allocation of bed, discharge procedures, billing information, clinical
inventory required, doctor information, and other. It will helps in increasing coordination and
cooperation between three branches of the hospital.
Process and services
Quality of services provided to the patients can be improved by deploying effective process
which helps in managing centralised control over the different branches of the organization
so that administration of patient bed allocation and treatment procedures can be managed
with ease. Records on paper should be converted into digital format which helps in retrieving
required information of the patient on demand (Kharaiweish, 2013). Digital files of the
patient should be constructed to minimize irregular format of presenting information.

Benefit Realization
Focus should be given on improving the services and processes of the hospital. Designing of
centralised control over the processes of three branches of St. Cuthbert’s healthcare centre
helps in keeping medical records in digital format, interaction and coordination between staff
members, managing facilities provided to the patients, taxation planning, billing generation,
claiming insurance policies, providing better services to patients, face to face communication
with the patients, and developing effective market strategies (Mansfield Community, 2013).
The system will be affected in minimizing time required to complete the communication
between doctor and patient.
