IT511 Information System Project Management Plan: Ecommerce Project

This project plan addresses the key elements of information systems project management, focusing on the development of an ecommerce website and application. The plan encompasses scope management, detailing the task hierarchy through a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Time management is addressed by specifying task durations and sequencing. Human resource management is covered by defining resource needs and associated costs, while cost management planning is illustrated through a Gantt chart showing activity costs. The plan incorporates milestones for each level 1 activity in the WBS, highlights critical tasks on the critical path, and simulates the completion of approximately one-fourth of the project's work. Introduction
A formal document that is mainly prepared to guide and supervise the execution process
of any project is termed as project plan. Four important elements of a project management plan
include the scope management, management of time, management of the human resources and
cost management of a project. A project of website development (ecommerce) and development
of an application for a company is undertaken to discuss the main elements of a project plan. In
the following section, the management of the scope, time, cost and human resource have been
highlighted.
1. Scope Management
The WBS created as the task Hierarchy of the undertaken project is indicated in the table
