Introduction
BlueScope Steel Limited is a steel manufacturing company, and it has planned to export
products in different regions. The steel company will prepare an export proposal report so that it
can make a procedure for exporting products and identify what steps they will be needed in
exporting products. For becoming a multinational business, BlueScope Steel Limited should
identify different opportunities where it can increase its growth and profitability. BlueScope
Limited Company has selected some primary countries where they will export products, and it
has also identified the competitive environment in selected regions(bluescope 2020).
Discussion
BlueScope Steel Limited is an Australian company which produces flat product and steel,
but the resources of this company are imported from New Zealand, North America, and Asia. It
is involved in selling products of different types of steel, rolled coil, and iron. BlueScope Steel is
the public limited listed company in the Australian Securities Exchange (Gale 2019). BlueScope
Steel Limited is planning to identify some potential sectors in some regions for increasing its
opportunities. The steel company will prepare an export report proposal to discuss its product
and service offerings to targeted areas.
Mission:
The mission of the proposal is to increase the sales and profitability of BlueScope Steel
Limited in different regions. BlueScope Steel Limited has another mission of introducing new
steel products that are reliable and perpetual. The steel company will also evaluate the position of
its products in response to the competitive environment of different regions.

Proposal:
BlueScope Steel has prepared its proposal after consulting with many firms and
organizations. The steel company will supply products to some organizations of foreign
countries to build a hospital, college, or pharmaceutical firm to promote its brand name (Kahiya
and Dean, 2015). BlueScope Steel Limited has identified four new opportunities in New
Zealand, Ireland, Greece and Finland which are discussed below –
1. BlueScope Steel Limited will supply raw materials and steel to a firm in Greece to
build a specialized hospital and medical college.
2. BlueScope Steel Limited will export steel to a preventive health organization in New
Zealand to create a pharmaceutical unit.
3. BlueScope Steel Limited will export iron, steel, and rolled coil to an organization of
Ireland in building a private university.
4. BlueScope Steel Limited will supply steel and flat products in Finland to build a multi-
special medical college and hospital.
Product and services offered for export:
BlueScope Steel Limited will provide some significant products for its business
operations such as steel slab, automotive steel, galvanized iron, galvanized steel, coated steel,
pre-painted steel, tube, pipe, and pipeline, etc(bluescope 2020).
Export license:
BlueScope Steel Limited will take permission from the Australian government and
governments of other targeted regions where it has planned to export. The steel company will

need approval from Australian General Export Licenses (AUSGEL’s) for exporting products,
and the company will be able to supply products at targeted destinations. The steel company has
to apply with details of products and goals for getting approval of exporting products.
Resources needed outside of the company:
BlueScope Steel Limited collects resources for producing steel products from the outside
of the company and different regional firms of New Zealand, Asian regions, North American
regions, and the Pacific Islands, etc. The steel company needs resources ores, burnt lime, liquid
metal, and carbon, etc. which are imported from those countries.
Distribution policies:
BlueScope Limited will only bear shipping costs for exporting products in different
regions, and other transportation costs will be incurred by the selected firms. The steel company
will distribute its products after making a mutual contract with regional firms, and different
terms and conditions will be applied in the agreement for the product distribution.
Pricing policies and taxes and other costs:
BlueScope Steel will predict its pricing policies after bearing in mind of freight costs,
duties, taxes, and logistics required so that it can achieve profit goals and sales goals. The steel
company should include freight costs, obligations, and fees while selling products in different
firms and organizations of different regions(annual report, 2020).
Primary target nations:
BlueScope Steel Limited has primarily targeted some countries where it has found
growth and opportunities after analyzing the competitive environment and policies (Honeyands
et al., 2019). The steel company has focused on New Zealand as its neighbor nation, Finland,

Greece, and Ireland, and it has planned to target some other countries such as India, Vietnam,
Canada, and the UK as its secondary target nations.
Competitive environment:
The competitive environment in New Zealand for manufacturing steel companies is at
moderate-level because the country has less popular steel companies. In Ireland and Greece, the
competitive environment is very high because C & S steels and Euro metal SA are two renowned
steel companies in those countries (Boehe and Jiménez, 2016).
Conclusion
BlueScope Steel Company has prepared its export proposal so that it can open new
branches in some other regions and export products in different nations. This proposal can help
the company to take step by step actions while exporting products in different countries.
BlueScope Steel Limited should bear in mind that exporting products in different regions is a
complicated process, and it should achieve its targeted sales and profit goals during exporting
business operations. The steel company will have a great opportunity in the future.
