Motivation for studying human bilogy
My fascination and interest in biology began to develop at a very early age as I grew up
watching science programs as a kid such as David Attenborough documentaries, National
Geographic Channel and Discovery channel which stimulated my interest in knowing about
the living organisms, such as plants, animals and most importantly humans.
As my academic career progressed further, Biology started to become my passion during
school days. I used to spent most of my time reading biology books, particularly which was
related to human biology, the result reflected on my marksheet also. I excelled the primary
school level receiving the highest marks in science exam. This motivated me a lot and from
that day I decided I will make biology as my career. Since my grandfather was a surgeon
himself, he used to tell me stories about how he performed surgery of the patients, gave me
insight about the physiological structure of the human body.
As I grew older, I started gaining interest in human biology. Finding out the seemingly
infinite and amazing things that our body can do, I wanted to know more about the human
body system and how it works. I am highly intrigued by the thought how the complex and
diverse mechanism which constantly undergoes within the human body enables an individual
to function efficiently. I am highly surprized by the fact how a single cell multiplies to form
tissues, which again combines together to give rise to organs and then the entire human body.
The course of human biology helped me to get better understanding of the anatomy,
philosophy and genetics of the human body. I also learned how a disease develops, learning
its pathophysiology and what is does to the body. Among the many branches of human
bilogy, the developmental biology is my favourite as I was always very curious to know how
a baby develops from an embryo in the mother’s womb. I also once saw a baby take birth,
