1SOCIOLOGY
Outline
Domestic violence is one of the worst social practices that people have seen. The extent
of this domestic violence has delineated the respect of the common people within the society.
The domestic abuse of children and women has raised a huge concern over the health issues for
the society. Social critics feel that this issue has become a huge concern for the society and well
being of most people in the world is in jeopardy (Cattaneo & Goodman, 2015). They think some
steps should be taken to stop this evil and provide all the people with the opportunities that they
deserve.
The violence against women has risen to a huge level because of certain reasons like
gender discrimination within the society and households as well (Pain, 2014). It has also been
noted from the various research works across the society that many people have become victims
of domestic violence in the hands of their beloved people only. There are various types of abuses
that can be classified in the recent times. It is physical abuse like hitting, drug abuse, pinching,
cutting, punching and others (Cattaneo & Goodman, 2015). The psychological abuse is also very
important to be noted in the patriarchal society. The sexual violence in the households also takes
place when a woman is sexually harassed by male members of the family.
It is against the law and ethical considerations as well. The critics believe awareness
among the people regarding ethical considerations to be followed in the society must be
increased to find out the solutions (Root & Brown, 2014). The family violence or domestic
violence has been recorded by the police departments in various countries on the spouses,
intimate people and children as well (Khalifeh et al., 2015). Special sociological and
psychological treatments must be provided to the people who have committed these activities in
their lives.

2SOCIOLOGY
In many cases it has been seen that many women and children are not able to report their
grievances to the police department because of the fear of being killed (Choudhry, & Herring,
2017). The economic abuse is also a kind of domestic violence where the earning member keeps
the entire financial control and neglects the responsibilities of people that rely on him.
