Discussion Board Post
AI Summary
This discussion post outlines the major steps involved in conducting quantitative research, particularly within the context of nursing. The process begins with establishing a theoretical framework, followed by formulating a hypothesis, and designing the research. Subsequent steps include selecting an appropriate sample, collecting data from various sources, processing the raw data into a usable format, and analyzing the data using methods like pie charts and graphs. The research culminates in the presentation of findings and conclusions, which are then published in journals or other relevant publications. The post emphasizes the importance of each step, from the initial theory to the final publication of results, to ensure the validity and reliability of the research. The assignment also provides references to support the information presented.

NURSING 1
The major steps that are required in conducting quantitative research are Theory,
Hypothesis, research design, selecting sample, data collection, data processing, data analysis,
findings, and publishing results ( K & R., 2015).
Theory-
The quantitative research starts with the theory that establishes relationships between
the items. It confirms the intentions through which the essay will be proceeded further, it
specifies the basic concepts of the things presented in the essay or report format (Elsbach,
2018).
Hypothesis-
Hypothesis is the statement that defines the objective of the research. It lays down
various conditions that her important in getting things done. The hypothesis is usually used in
the experimental research where the objective is to prove the hypothesis either true or false.
The hypothesis provides the outline to be followed by other elements in the report ( K & R.,
2015).
Research design-
Research design is another important part of conducting the quantitative research on
the topic. It provides an outlet on which the things have to be organized. It prepares the
mindset of the researcher on the account a research has to be done. There are various types of
research design available that include experimental, research problem, descriptive and case
study ( K & R., 2015).
Selecting sample-
Once all the important elements are included in the research, the nest important steps
that comes is selection of the right kind of respondents so that the objectives of the research
can be fulfilled. There are various types of sampling techniques that are used in selecting the
sample is random, stratified, clustered, quota, and convenience sampling (Schmiedel, 2019).
Data collection-
Once the sample is selected then the next steps that comes is collection of the data.
The data is collected from various sources that include website, journals, periodicals, and
books. Except these methods, there are other methods that include collection of the data such
as through primary sources that include it doing surveys.

Data processing-
Processing of data is another essential step in conducting research. In this step, the
raw data is converted into final data. Various techniques and procedures are used in
converting data in a usable form. Certain techniques are applied in the manner so that right
ways of things can be achieved ( K & R., 2015).
Data analysis –
Data analysis is the most essential step as it is helpful in analyzing the data in the
most effective and efficient manner. The analysis of the data is helpful in arriving at the
stated objectives of the research topic. There are ways in which the methods are used to
analyze the data that include pie-charts. Graphs, bar charts, and other types of tests.
Conclusions/findings-
The conclusions and findings are the last part of the research study as it incorporates
the fruitful conclusions after the in-depth analysis of the objectives. it is helpful in bringing
out the essence of the report in the end (Yahiaoui, Chebbi, & Weber, 2016).
Publishing results –
This is the last step that involves publishing the results once the research completed.
The results that cane published in journals, periodicals and in subjective magazines (Elsbach,
2018).
