1CHRISTIANITY
The discussions in this article deals with the views of postmodernism and the things that
are highly associated with it (Sire, 2009). The author has also discussed on the fact that
postmodernism is basically the incredulity that will be judged on the basis of the meta narratives.
Various probabilities within the course of Meta narratives have been presented in the concept of
postmodernism.
Various aspects of the meta-narratives include the fact that classical notions of all the
things would be suspected and its identities will be put under much analysis as well. Here, the
author has presented several views by which he has categorized the western culture. Therefore,
these three perspectives are pre-modernism, modernism and postmodernism (Sire, 2009).
Through the concept of the meta-narratives, the probabilities of the human knowing will be
increased. In this book, the author has discussed on the issue of the features of pre-modernism
and other two categories. The author presents the facts that all truths had been revealed through
the divine being in the pre-modernism period.
The social structures during this time would provide the security to the common people
and this was the basic norm of this time. During the modern period, the concepts of renaissance
and overall development of science had come into effect (Sire, 2009). Globalization is the
biggest output of the notions of post-modernism during the current times. Some obvious features
of this postmodernism view are skepticism, cynicism and existentialism. According to the
author, this age is seen as the age of media and using the cyber space for common developments
in the society (Sire, 2009). In the views of the post modernists, the concepts of rationality and
truth are completely relative.

The metaphysics of this period is uncertain and people believe in the formulation of
science and technology. In the views of post modernists, people of this age do seek faith but they
do not possess a realistic view on it. On the other hand, they are very much pessimistic about this
issue also (Sire, 2009). The pragmatic values of the Jesus’ resurrection have sometimes been
questioned in this post modern period. Sire defines that beliefs of the Christian communities
have changed also.
