INTRODUCTION TITLE “How do multinational companies improve the recruitment, selection and training of their employees to meet International requirements?” Background Globalisation is very popular concept and its significance has grown in recent years, it is referred as the process where people, people and government are integrating at the global platform (Atkin, Faber and Gonzalez-Navarro, 2018). There has been various reasons for the processofglobalisationwhichismainlydueincreaseintransportation,processof communication and technology, these are the factors which has played an important role in the process of globalisation. Globalisation has increased movement of people within the countries which has provided a huge option for companies in order to select the appropriate staff to fill their staffing needs. Aim To assess various improvements in, selection, recruitment and training process followed by MNCs for their employees to meet international requirements- A case study on Nestle. Objectives To evaluate importance of recruitment, selection and training in MNC's. To analyse the international requirements for training and selection process within MNC's. Toassessthewaysforimprovingtraining,recruitmentandselectionprocessin globalised organisations Research Questions What is the significance of recruitment, selection and training in MNC's? What are international requirements for training and selection process within MNC's? How training, recruitment methods and selection decisions can be enhanced in globalised organisations? Rationale or significance With the increase in the process of globalisation, most of the companies have gone global with the help of this research it will help in analysing the what are the improvements in the 1
process of recruitment, selection as well as training that are implemented by the firms at global level. This topic also proper understanding of importance these process for Mnc's which can help MNC's to enhance their training, selection and recruitment process. LITERATURE REVIEW Theme 1: Importance of recruitment, selection and training in MNC's. According toDany and Torchy (2017)the process of hiring, selection and training plays an important role for growth and success of multinational firm. There are various methods that can be used by MNC. If, firm is recruiting domestic workers to office that are located abroad, it helps to maintain culture of the organization.Chang and Chin (2018)suggested that when multinational company recruit employees from local talent pool it helps the firm to connect with customers in better way. Training and development of employees plays an important role in developing new skills and abilities of workers. This will help to improve sales and profitability of MNC. Theme 2: International requirements for training and selection process. According toJouda, Ahmad and Dahleez (2016)while hiringemployeesfor international operations, Human Resource Manager must assess the competitiveness of the candidates while hiring them. It is essential that human resource of Nestle should have the awareness of the significance of the company. Knowledge and experience of performing business should be a criteria while recruiting workers. ΟΙΚΟΝΟΜΟΥ (2018)pointed out that, there are various methods of international recruitment like ethnocentric, polycentric approach etc. There are various practises that MNC uses for providing training to employees that helps to fulfil international requirements. Such as life long learning etc. This will help to fulfil the requirements of training to employees of Nestle at international level. Theme 3: Ways to improve training, recruitment and selection process. According toDany and Torchy (2017)there are different ways that can be adapted by MNC to improve the process of hiring, selecting and training employees. To improve hiring process, Nestle should develop a committee that include department manager and other staff. It will help to improve the process of selecting candidates for vacant job position. 2
Barton, Tucker and Lough (2017)in their paper suggested that, there MNC should consider different ways to improve training process for workers. Nestle should adopt flexible training options like eLerning etc. Moreover, Manager should provide cross-department training to employees. This will help to achieve individual as well goals of the company. Project Management Plan Project Management - It includes the process of planning and organizing the resources of the firm to accomplish a particular task or an event. It may e a continuous activity or one time project. It can be described as initiating, executing, monitoring etc. of a team to achieve specific objectives in a particular period (Larson and Gray, 2017). 3
