A leader is someone who can identify ways to improve things and who moves people
towards that better vision. They may try to make their vision reality simultaneously as putting
other people first into practise. Therefore, a leader is highly significant position in the
organisation. It is not enough to drive people into your own perspective. At the same time,
leaders must be empathic and connected to people to succeed. According to John C.
Maxwell, “a leader is one who knows the way, and shows the way”.
The leader that I admire the most is Syed Saddiq or his full name is Syed Saddiq bin
Syed Abdul Rahman. Syed Saddiq is member of Parliament (MP) for Muar since May 2018.
He is the former of the youngest cabinet Minister to appointed at the age of 25 after made his
debut contesting the 2018 Malaysian general election for the Muar parliamentary seat. What I
admire is not his politic career. To be honest I hardly knew or didn’t even have wide
knowledge in political issues. Having said that, following Syed Saddiq through social
network sides and scrutinize news about his achievement and goals made me look up to him.
Syed Saddiq was born on 6 December 1992 in Pulai Johor Bahru, Johor. He is the youngest
out of four siblings. His father named Syed Andul Rahman was a Singaporean and work at
construction in Singapore while his mother named Sharifah Mahani binti Syed Abdul Aziz
was an English teacher.
He was a law graduate from public universities in Malaysia which is International
Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Stepping into law school is
based on his enthusiasm prospects. Knowing that IIUM offers an excellent school of law. It is
widely known by leading companies in Malaysia and the sphere of Shariah law and Islamic
Banking he put a trust to gain flexibility and grow his skill better. From here I praise how he
planed for his future from the beginning. I understand planning is the managerial function
that defines goals and determines a course of action to achieve these goals. Besides, planning
demand managers to be aware of the environment and to foresee future circumstances for
their organisation. By emphasizing that, Syed Saddiq is the manager of his education
experience. He widely known and confident what he planned things that leads to achieved his
desire.
By emphasizing that, it opened my thoughts literally I can acclimate planning,
organizing, leading and organizing (POLC) not only went I seat in organization to do

management, it just the same when managing myself. What I have in mind regarding
managing myself is to learn to operate productively and profitably with others. I convinced it
implies focusing on improving the value of my practise. Before everything, I should plan how
I am going to build my background. For instance, planning my education experience from
figuring out what grades could bring me into a prestige school. Not only focusing on types of
school I’m going to pursue my studies, but this planning should get along with what skill that
I can grow and foster to strength up my background. Following this, as a student i realized if
we manage to organize ourselves orderly, organizing other things would be more efficient.
Managing ourselves is like leading your own shadow. What we plan, organize and how we
control outcomes of decision is reflecting. When we work in organization, we are engaging
with other member. We flourish in cooperative, inclusive and welcoming working situations.
In addition, we do rely on our team members to assist solving problems, answer questions
and boost job efficiency. In view of the fact that, each individual has a limited amount of
abilities and a restricted knowledge base. To handle challenging situations, we need aid from
others to see distinct viewpoints that beyond our blind spots.
