What is Culture?
Culture constitutes the norms and behaviors
observed in the society.
According to Kluckhohn and Kroeber (1952), culture can
be defined as a combination of patterns that may be
implicit or explicit of societal behaviors, transmitted
through symbols. These behaviors constitute distinctive
achievements of specific human communities. Moreover,
cultural core constitutes traditional ideas and their
attached values, which may either be products of human
action or conditioning.

Edgar Henry Schein proposed that
there are three levels of culture
namely artifacts, values and
assumptions.

In the age of globalization, various organizations are expanding their scope
into culturally diverse countries and employing individuals from distinctly
separate cultural backgrounds.
Cross-cultural management is the process undertaken by
organizations to identify and adapt to cultural differences in the
work environment (Bird and Mendenhall 2016).
