Abstract
Main purpose of this report is to identify the ways for increasing job satisfaction among
the employees of an organisation. This is a main purpose and in order to attain this, different
activities were completed by researcher in systematic manner. Introduction is a first part of
dissertation that was done by developing aim and objectives, introducing background or
overview of the report, identifying research gap etc. These helped researcher in conducting of
another chapter which is literature review. This chapter is based on secondary data that was
collected from secondary sources such as articles, magazines, books, publication research and
many others. All these sources supported researcher in fulfilment of research gap and in also
accomplishing research objectives through research questions. Research methodology is
determined as an another and main activity that were completed by using positivism philosophy,
deductive approach, questionnaire, quantitative choice etc. These methods were helped
researcher in gathering of quantitative or primary information within minimum time period. Data
analysis is another activity or part of research that helped researcher in analysing or evaluating of
information collected from questionnaire. Frequency distribution analysis applied by researcher
as an analytical tool. This tool supported them in analysing of quantitative data in limited time
period. Conclusion is important activity because it included entire information or data about the
topic in clear and short manner. Recommendations is also part that helps in providing of proper
recommendations about the improvement in research topic. Therefore, all these are useful
activities that supported investigator in completion of full dissertation systematically and
effectively.

INTRODUCTION CHAPTE
Overview of the research
Satisfaction refers to the fulfilment of a needs or wants of person. Job satisfaction is a
type of satisfaction that defined as the level of happiness that feel by employees with their job.
Satisfaction level of employee towards their job is related with the work environment,
compensation and benefits, team members and managers, job impact on personal life etc.
Therefore, job satisfaction is important for employees as well as an organisation. For employees,
this will help them by improving its working performance that results in higher progress in
company. In case of an organisation, job satisfaction of employees is essential because it will
support them in reduction of high employees turnover and also in accomplishment of
competitive advantages (Berglund, Johansson Sevä and Strandh, 2016). For this project, steel
industry is a give case study. This is a industrial sector that trades and produces in steel. Thus,
employee satisfaction is important within steel industry because this will support them in
increment of growth and success. Sheffield Forgemasters is a chosen organisation that works
under steel industry. It is a heavy engineering organisation located in Sheffield, South
Yorkshire, England. This company was founded in 1805 by the key people of Graham
Honeyman and James Tate, and headquartered in Sheffield, England, United Kingdom.
Company was specialise in production of large bespoke steel castings and forgings, and also
standard ingots, bars and rolls.
Problem statement
Job satisfaction among employees is important part of the business growth and
development. If employees are not satisfied towards their job, it has negative impact over
business performance of company. Due to unsatisfied employees at workplace, there are
different issues that may be face by company including lower productivity, reduced brand image,
high employee turnover etc. All these are biggest issues faced by company if they have
dissatisfied employees in the workplace. Thus, this is a major problem that negatively impact on
business performance and growth of company (Nica, 2016).

Research questions
What are the effective ways for increasing level of job satisfaction among employees of
steel industry?
What are the importance of satisfied employees of Sheffield Forgemasters in steel
industry?
What are the impact of job satisfaction over working performance of employees within
Sheffield Forgemasters?
Scope of the report
This research has wide scope because employee satisfaction is important for an
organisation or an industry. Quantitative research also has biggest scope because it will support
investigator by providing data in form of numbers or facts. This will support researcher in
achievement of research aim and objectives and also in completion of full report systematically
and effectively (Wang and Brower, 2019).
Research aim
To identify the ways for increasing job satisfaction among the employees of an
organisation. A study on Sheffield Forgemasters within steel industry.
Research objectives
To explore ways for increasing satisfaction level of employees towards their job.
To determine the importance of satisfied employees within Sheffield Forgemasters in
steel industry.
To evaluate the impact of job satisfaction on working performance of employees within
Sheffield Forgemasters.

There are different chapters that will be needed by researcher for completing research
project is systematic manner. Structure of the report is based on different chapters which will be
defined as below:
Introduction: This is a first chapter that consists of different activities including research
questions, research aim and objectives, overview of the title, problem statement etc. These
activities helps reader in identification of overview of the report (Balabanova and et. al., 2016).

Literature review: This is another chapter that is based on secondary data gathered from
secondary sources such as articles, journals, books etc. In this chapter, different authors have to
provide their opinion or views regarding the title.
Research methodology: This section of research is important because it consists of
different methods, tools and approaches. Within an investigation, positivism philosophy,
deductive approach, questionnaire, quantitative research etc. will be applied by researcher
because these support in attainment of research objectives.
Data analysis: In order to analysis information about the present investigation, frequency
distribution analysis as an analytical technique will be followed by investigation. This technique
support investigation in analysation of quantitative data. Ms-Excel will also use for making
graphs according to the research questions (Shaker Ardakani and et. al., 2016).
Conclusion: This section of the study is important because it includes entire information
or data of each chapter in clear or short way. This chapter helps reader in determination of
achievement of the research aim and objectives.
Recommendations: This part of the study helps in improvement of business performance
through different ways recommended to the specific organisation or industry.
Limitations of the report
There are number of limitations of the study including in-sufficient time, inaccurate
amount of capital, unethical behaviour from respondents side etc. These are major limitations but
despite of these, there are some ways that will be used by investigator for eliminating the
limitations or problems of the report (Heydarabadi and et. al., 2016).

LITERATURE REVIEW CHAPTER
Literature review is important process used by investigator for accumulating secondary
data from different sources such as articles, books, magazines, publication research etc. Main
purpose of literature review is finding of research gap in previous studies (Chung, Jung and
Sohn, 2017). Within a current project, main gap of this research is the ways for increasing job
satisfaction among the employees of an organisation. In previous study, there were data available
regrading the ways for increasing job satisfaction of employees but there were in-sufficient
information regarding the impact of satisfied employees on business as well as their working
performance. In order to overcome this gap, research questions has been followed by
investigator. These are:
What are the effective ways for increasing level of job satisfaction among employees of steel
industry?
According to the Adekanmbi, Ukpere and Adegoke, (2020), All different industries and
their prevailing organisations are needed to focus over job satisfaction for retaining employees
longer period of time. This has huge importance in improving the performance level of
employees. This also aid in creating their trust towards organisational services and management.
The higher level of satisfaction allowing an organisation to hold employees for longer time
period and creation of a team that will always work in their beneficence. There are numerous
number of benefits that attached with the successful performance of this exercise includes higher
productivity level, optimum utilisation of resources, work completion on time, higher amount of
profitability and less amount of errors. There are many ways that will help an organisation to
increase the job satisfaction level of employees. Different organisations adopt different in
accordance to the nature of operations and prevailing conditions. There are some common and
standard ways which are effective to adopt by all different nature organisations whether small or
large or having business operations in any industry like training and development, performance
appraisal, recognition, rewards etc. The detailed level description of all is provided below that
how these all aid in improving job satisfaction within steel industry;
Training and development: One of the major aspect of employee is their personal and
professional development. It is the duty upon management of each organisation that arrange
training and development programmes on regular basis that ensures development of their

existing level skills, knowledge, competence and overall personality. This exercise has
contribution in development of opportunities for all employees that grab higher responsibilities
within same organisation (Cherif, 2020). This aid in improving their job satisfaction level that
further allowing in their retention for longer period of time within an organisation. This creates
the trust in behaviour of employees that they are important part of an organisation and
management focuses over fulfilling their future needs. This simultaneously having positive
impact over daily performances where major focus will provided over optimum utilisation along
with reduction of errors.
Reward: All the employees within an organisation has belief that they will get
significant amount of rewards from an organisation against to their good performances. So,
providence of rewards by an organisation to their employees for their extra efforts will help in
getting their trust and engagement. The futuristic impact of same will be ascertained in the form
of high level performances and long term retention of employees at workplace. The satisfaction
of doing job for an organisation that fulfils their demand further aid in improvement of
personality, skills and knowledge from where easy to get desirable results (Strategies to increase
job satisfaction, 2017).
Performance appraisal: This is important from the organisational perspective to
perform. This further aid in ascertaining the support of employees as they able to perform
exercises more effectively. This aid in development of their personality where they tend to be
more trustable while performing organisations functions. The futuristic impact of same will be
ascertained as high level retention (Lambert and et. al., 2020).
What are the importance of satisfied employees of Sheffield Forgemasters in steel industry?
According to Mickson, Anlesinya and Malcalm, (2020), employee satisfaction is important
as it helps in developing corporate culture and improves the retention of employees within an
organisation. In terms of Sheffield Forgemasters satisfaction of employees is important as it
tends to eliminate absenteeism and employee turnover and also increases the overall performance
of employees. Without precedent for quite a long while, the quantity of workers who state they
are happy with their present place of employment took a major hike, ascending from 81% in
2013 to 88% in 2016, as indicated by the Employee Job Satisfaction and Engagement Report by
the SHRM. The improving economy was one factor in the significant level of fulfilment or it can
be considered as satisfaction, since managers have been all the more willing and ready to help
