MANAGEMENT
The assignment aims to shed light on the potential issues, which we encountered
during a group presentation on A1 Platinum Car Washing services. Within this, I would
emphasize on the roles played by the team members. Theoretical understanding towards the
team performance assisted us to fulfil the goals and objectives, which were briefed while the
duties and responsibilities were distributed. This was done in a seminar. Within the team, the
members belonged to different socio-cultural background, which enhanced the diversity.
Open communication was practiced within the team, which enhanced the awareness about the
provided responsibilities. Difference in the opinions resulted in conflicts, stalling the
productivity. This necessitated a meeting, which aligns with the characteristics of the forming
stage, as proposed by Tuckman in the stages of team development.
As a sequential step, we held discussions with the tutor for achieving deeper
understanding about the objectives, which we need to fulfil. This approach indicates
progression into the storming stage, where the activities are conducted, but at a raw stage.
The tutor clarified the doubts and appoint a team leader for monitoring our performance. This
approach aligns with the characteristic traits of a coordinator as proposed by Belbin in his
Team Role Model. In spite of dividing the responsibilities equally, lack of proper
understanding among the team members generated the issues of communication gaps. This
barrier delayed the submission of the presentation. As we had limited time, these gaps
aggravated the complexities towards submitting the presentation within the deadline.
I have managed to understand the impact of implementation of a new business idea on
the management of innovation and enhancement of business performance to meet the criteria
and needs of the presentation. I have been assigned as the designer of the Model or
framework and thus has focused on the Business Model canvas and service pricing
information according to the different market segments comprising of clients and value
propositions offered to reflect upon the business practices thereafter. Here, I can align the role

of resource investigator as proposed by Belbin in his Team Role Model (Ruch et al. 2018). I
can make mention of two team members, who supported me to seeking effective channels
through which the information related to the car washing services can be conveyed to the
clients and the customers. We controlled the performances of each other for deciding on the
future courses of actions for preparing the presentation (Huber and Spinler 2014).
After completing one task, we took feedbacks from the other members. Within this,
communication was important in terms of gaining an understanding about the potential
issues. Here, I can cite the reference of one of the team member, who accused others, hardly
completing the allocated task on time. He was assigned the task of collecting information
about the pricing of services of A1 Platinum Car Wash. However, he exposed lackadaisical
approach and produced a work, which was full of errors. He did not involve the other team
members, which added to the doubts and misunderstanding regarding the basic concepts.
One of the team member was assigned the role of specialist in terms of collecting
information related to the prices of the car washing services. At this stage, we conducted
another meeting for assessing the effectiveness of the prepared slides. During the meeting,
one of the team member remained neutral, as he failed to execute the duties properly. In such
a situation, one of the team member, who completed all of the tasks, was instructed to brief
others about how he proceeded with the assigned role. According to the team roles specified
by Belbin, I can consider him as the Plant, contributing towards attaining successful
completion of the presentation (Kiweewa et al. 2018).
Once the concepts was cleared, we actually progressed into the performing stage.
Here, we began the preparation of the slides, according to the instructions. Tutors monitored
our practice. This was the stage, where we once again indulged into a question answer
session for enriching our skills, knowledge and expertise on the subject matter of the

presentation. This enrichment helped us to make better performance at the time of presenting
our parts regarding service related information in case of A1 Platinum Car Wash.
In terms of the identified presentation requirements, development of strong and
flexible team was crucial. Here, I think theoretical consideration was vital. Resource
investigator or designer helped us in properly transforming from the forming to the
performing stage. Effective communication helped us to resolve the doubts, indicative of
reducing the errors within the presentation. I think initiative of the tutor regarding the one-to-
one session seem productive in terms of enhancing our preconceived skills, expertise and
knowledge. Within these sessions, the tutors adhered to the terms and conditions of Ethical
Code of Conduct, which preserved the confidentiality, security and privacy of our responses.
I think consciousness and rationality of the supervisors assisted in attaining effective
resolutions for the conflicts, misunderstanding and communication gaps.
I felt that interview sessions proved beneficial for us in terms of voicing out the
issues, which we encountered while preparing the presentation. At the performing stage, we
conducted joint ventures and offshore management, which helped in enhancing the awareness
about the prospective clients, who can help us in enhancing preconceived skills, expertise and
knowledge on the subject matter of the presentation. This approach enhanced the cultural
diversity within the team. Along with this, I also felt that, as per the storming stage of
Tuckman’s theory of team development, if the team members were instructed about the
effective use of checklist and templates, they would contribute in undertaking effective
decisions regarding the development of effective risk mitigation strategies (Kiweewa et al.
2018). These strategies would have been beneficial in terms of mitigating the potential risks
within the execution of the presentation.

MANAGEMENT
Along with this, I can focus on facilitation of the effective and judicious use of the
resources for achieving sustainable development. However, one of the members lacked
consciousness towards this direction, which compelled us to encounter delay in completing
the presentation within the stipulated time. This was discovered in the meetings, where the
role of “Plant” came to rescue. This is because, he managed the situation through intellectual
approach He exposed creativity regarding utilization of the limited resources regarding the
business model canvas of A1 Car Wash.
We took the help of social media for expanding the scope and arena of sources
regarding the execution of presentation slides. After discussing with the team members, we
uploaded the plan of including the prospect of loyalty cards. According to me, discussing
with the team members proved beneficial in terms of enhancing integrity and coordination.
These discussions helped me to delve deeper into the mind-set of others. I can relate
behavioural theories into the discussion. This is in terms of developing compatibility and
adjustability skills for exposing collaborative approach in a given environment.
Consciousness towards the execution of discussion forums is a planned and reasoned
approach of the tutors towards inculcating self-organizational skills within us. These skills
maps the roles played by the team members towards conducting the presentation.
From the presentation of the team members, I have also understood that
implementation of right resources is necessary for the achievement of positive outcomes.
This approach relates with the infusion of effective management techniques for controlling
the performance of the team members. I particularly liked the tactful approach of the
supervisors regarding submission to the peer influences. I need to learn this approach from
the supervisors in terms of enhancing my leadership skills, abilities and competencies. This
would not only enable innovation into the presentation activities, but also upgrade the

performance of the team members towards the execution of the allocated duties and
responsibilities (Hinterhuber and Liozu 2014).
Reflection on the group performance towards project management
Prediction on the performance of the group
I can make mention of Tuckman’s theory, which helped in predicting on the
performance of the team members. According to this theory, forming, storming and norming
are the stages, which form crucial elements in terms of preparing the teams for enhancing the
efficiency within the business activities. Forming stage involves the approach of the
managers towards ensuring that the employee have understood their roles within the
workplace. Within this, I feel consideration of the challenges is important, as it helps in
conducting need analysis for training the employees. Aligning with the rainy day challenge,
Aileen points out the issue of judging the motivation. However, I feel that this aspect comes
at a later stage in the Tuckman’s stages of team development. Countering this, consideration
of the challenges can be effective in terms of forming the teams accordingly. This is in terms
of mapping the conflicts, which the team members can encounter in terms of exposure to the
companionship of new colleagues.
In the forming stage, I conducted meetings for briefing the team members about their
roles and responsibilities towards the project. In the storming stage, I allocated the tasks to
the team members. In the norming stage, our focus was on tracking the performance on the
preparation of the presentation slides. Preparation of the business model canvas helped me to
estimate the progress regarding the development of necessary skills, abilities and
competencies. Meetings on the constructed plans proved beneficial in terms of mapping the
performance. Timely management of the performance acted as an agent towards exposing
appropriate attitude in the actual performing stage.

Important tools helping in clarification of the business idea
Business model canvas enhanced my preconceived skills, expertise and knowledge
regarding the performance of the business operations. Guidance, support and motivation from
the tutors proved beneficial in terms of clarifying the doubts, which hampered our progress in
terms of preparing the presentation. Seminars and briefing sessions on the business model
canvas of A1 Platinum Car Wash enriched our knowledge towards the subject matter. Within
this, specification of the roles and responsibilities mitigated the doubts towards producing
wrong presentations, which do not match with the requirements.
The role of monitor evaluator, as proposed by Belbin, proved effective for us in terms
of controlling the performance of the employees. Here, I think the use of checklists and
templates is crucial in terms of assessing the extent to which we emerged successful in
executing the allocated duties and responsibilities. This utilization seemed fruitful in terms of
identifying the drawbacks and challenges, which acted as an obstacle towards making the
presentation. Feedback from the clients clarified the approach regarding the execution of the
responsibilities according to the specified roles.
Processes from the perspective of an entrepreneur
Stable contacts with the research and development team would have been different.
Diversified thoughts would not be there, as the business is at the forming stage. Along with
this, understanding about the activities would lack intensity. Readiness towards accepting
challenges would be missing. This is in terms of fear, hesitation and dilemmas regarding the
outcomes. Motivation and encouragement from the supervisors and tutors would have been
beneficial in terms of progressing appropriately into the process of enhancing the learning
process. Apart from this, I can make mention of the lacuna within the implementation of
effective mediation means for the conflicts, mediation and communication gaps. As a result
of this, the business or the ideas plans would encounter negative results.

MANAGEMENT
Moreover, responsibility towards bearing the responsibility would be at a raw stage,
as the tendency is to get readymade solutions for the tasks. Lackadaisical approach in this
direction would prove detrimental in terms of maintaining the balance between the leader
member exchanges.
Overall, I can say that the group presentation enhanced my awareness about the ways
and means of conducting business presentations. Allocation of the team roles enhanced the
cultural diversity within the teams. In spite of this, there was difference of opinion, which
resulted in conflicts, misunderstandings. Some of the team members lacked effective
communication skills, which aggravated the complexities towards completing the
presentation within the deadline. We relied on the initiatives of one of the team members,
who undertook the responsibility of improvising the condition through his creativity and
judgmental decision making.
