This article discusses the impact of the Aborigines Protection Act on the current health and well-being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, families, and individuals. It also explores the positive impact of historical events, government policies, and legislations on shaping the delivery of services to these communities. Additionally, it examines the current federal and state legislation for cultural safety at the workplace and the issues that influence relationships, communication, and partnership building with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples. The article also highlights the impact of cultural values and beliefs on service delivery and emphasizes the importance of consultation and communication to deliver culturally safe services.
