INTRODUCTION
Colonisation deprived aboriginal people of their mother land and in Australia it was
began in 1788 when it was treated by the British government as a colony of accommodation.
British colonists grabbed aboriginal land on the assumption that the particular land belongs to
no-one. Australian colonisation had a destructive impact on aboriginal cultures and communities.
In this report, there is brief description of colonisation of aboriginals in Australia.
MAIN BODY
Australian history is not considered as indicator of aboriginals health status. According to
the national health survey conducted in 2001 , eye related problems were one of the most
common problem reported by the Torres islander people and aboriginals. In non-remote areas,
aboriginals have reported eye related issue as a long term state of health. Aboriginals are more
likely to deal with eye related issues in comparison to non-indigenous people. Their eyes get
affected by genetic factors, UV rays, poor nutrition, injuries and smoking. Many of the victims

2022). Colonisation increase the prevalence of communicable diseases among aboriginals.
Colonisation make aboriginals suffer with unequal access to healthcare facilities. Australian
