Background of Warren Buffet
Warren Buffet’s father, Howard Buffet owned a little brokerage in which little Warren
used to spend his time. During this time Warren used to listen to the investors talking and
understand the various aspects of business (). He was born with business residing in his blood.
During his teenage time Warren used to take up odd jobs like delivering newspapers as well as
washing cars. The savings he made from these jobs was used in buying a pinball machine which
was placed by him in a local store. Warren bought his first share when he was merely 11 years
old (Kizil 2016). The success which he tasted in his early years did not want to visit college but
his father pushed him to continue his studies. After Warren was rejected from Harvard Business
School, he went to Columbia Business School where he studied under Benjamin Graham and
David Dodd. Both of them were a very well-known analysts of security. Under their mentoring
Warren understood the various aspects of value investing. It was stated by him that the book
written by Graham, “The Intelligent Investor” changed his life and is the reason for his present
success (Kelly 2019).
Buffett as an influential leader
Warren Buffet can be recognized as one of the most influential leaders of the world.
Buffet is the perfect example of being one of the most influential leader and to stay humble at the
same time. There are some reason duw to which he can be stated as one of the most influential
leaders of the world:
 Going against the grain: Buffet always stuck to his values and invested in the areas
where there are chances of very intense pressure of market. The investment which was
done by Warren in the Washington post of 1973 was deemed to backfire but he stuck to

his investment. After 40 years of the investment it turned out to be a huge success of
Warren.
 Facing failures but not backing down: The various failures which were faced by Warren
were discussed by him openly and the people came to know why failure is known as the
pillar od success. It have been admitted by Warren that his purchase of a small textile
mill, Berkshire Hathaway cased a major problem for Warren and he wanted to get away
from it as soon as possible. According to Buffer when an individual is stuck in a lousy
business then they must get away from it as soon as possible.
 Being humble: Being such an influencer and esteemed leader Warren is extremely
humble. When Warren was criticised for his bad investments then he blatantly stated that
he did not invest in any kind of business he could not understand rather he did not
understand high tech models of business (Vien 2016). This was a major shock as a person
his calibre will be admitting that he does not understand something.
These are certain qualities of Warren which aids him in becoming the influential leader
he is today. These various qualities of Warren have made him stand out from the crowd and
being humble have put him in such a respectable position today.
Sources of power
The main source of power for Warren Buffet is his investment strategies. The value based
investment strategy which is followed by him have become a great example for the world. The
four tenets which help him in making the prefect investment are business, management, value
and financial measures. These steps help him in making the perfect investment. Warren believes
that investment must be done in something which have solid fundamentals, have the potential for
growing continuously and possess the power of strong earning (Becoming Warren Buffett,

2017). These are the principles which are followed by Warren in making decisions in investment.
The various process which are followed by him has become a lesson for any young investors
who want to invest in certain properties.
The main power which is used by him during making some investment is value tenets in
which Warren looks at the intrinsic value of a company (Vien 2016). The long term returns of
the company are looked at by Warren Buffet. This step helps him in understanding the key
factors that drive the company are and what are future improvements which the company is
aiming at. The various process which are used by Warren in deciding the investment in a
company keeps him away from any kind of mishaps or bad investment.
