Internet is a global network that connects computer system in all over the world. It
includes various high bandwidths that comprise internet as a backbone. Higher education refers
to a several types of education courses within post secondary institutions where teachers and
faculty members provide training to students for developing career (Jabbarova, 2020). As current
education system is highly based on using of internet for improving the quality of education and
wealth of knowledge that develops academic and professional skills of an individual person. This
report includes the importance of internet with example to student in higher education. Further it
represented recommendation on importance of internet within 21st century.

Importance of internet in higher education
Internet is the most useful technology that plays a crucial role in education. Internet
improves the usages of technology, communication, online entertainment etc. but it is incredibly
used in higher education for students and teachers (Crompton and Burke, 2018). As teachers or
experts use internet to supply their lessons to number of students who want to take knowledge
about different courses. Internet highly support education as it helps in gather information due to
research. It also useful to add several type of knowledge related to particular subject or interested
subject of students. Education is a basic right of every student as it is useful to sustainable
development where use of internet is significant for attaining vision related to future. Using
internet helps students and educators at universities and several institutions to ease in delivering
information related to course. There are several importance of internet in higher education is
demonstrated below:
 Affordable education and cost effective - It is one of a major importance in higher
education. Currently higher education faces major challenge related to high cost where
institutions focus improving and developing quality of education. It is very essential to
develop the education system because it helps nation in sustainable development

(Dumford and Miller, 2018). With the use of internet, universities offer videos, web
tutorials that are affordable and cost effective for students. It also attracts number of
students towards gaining knowledge which helps in sustainable growth of country. In
context of higher education many universities have opened their free online classes on
several courses that are easily assessable to students in all over the world (Advantages for

 Learning with multimedia - In higher education, internet plays a crucial importance
because it simplifies the process of gaining knowledge. Internet also support education in
visualize what was thought within the class at the time of preparing for exams. In this
teachers can access the video tutorials and several resources using internet. Using internet
in higher education helps students to go through certain courses and select it as per own
interest and abilities. Internet also helpful in providing online quiz and exams in a

e- learning that is useful to boosting student morale and gain knowledge that helps in
future in providing creative ideas.
 Bridges communication gaps between teachers and students - It is the major
importance of internet in higher education. Internet helps in eliminating the gap between
teachers and students due to this misunderstanding are to be eliminated (Brinkley-
Etzkorn, 2018). In higher education notes and assignments sheets are highly significant
due to high usage of internet problem related to misplacing of notes, assignments test
copies are resolved and also keep safe for further use. This also useful for providing
updates to students in digital manner so that students cannot miss the essential note.
 Personalization - Using of internet as e-learning in higher education reflects a greatest
importance in making education more personalized (e-learning in higher education,
2021). Due to the use of e- learning tool students does not need group setting. It helps in
presenting higher education in more personalized, specific, distinct and transparent
manner. Within this students select to ask queries related to courses, leave their feedbacks
get responses, clarify issues and doubts at the own level of comprehension. Internet helps
in customize the entire subject’s structure on the basis of student’s demands.
 Enjoy virtual field trips - Using internet is higher advantageous in higher education
because due to this students takes virtual field trips without leaving the current place. It

does not include high cost for students (Zhu, Sari and Lee, 2018). Due to this a person
can gain their knowledge without leaving particular place. In this if a student want to visit
foreign country for higher education and cannot have enough money to go their then they
take the advantage of using internet. It helps in providing higher education at their home
due to which student academic skills are improved that developed their employability
skills also.
Examples on how internet is important to you and others as higher education students
In the technological advanced era, internet is highly useful in every field such as
business, education, personal life etc. Internet is highly useful for me and millions of students
that are associated with higher education. Internet is recognized as a world of knowledge because
information related to quality content is easily available on internet (Altbach, Reisberg and
Rumbley, 2019). This report provides several examples related to importance of internet as a
higher education students that are demonstrate below:
 Provide relevant information - Internet is full of knowledge that provides information
in small pieces to students (Quaye, Harper and Pendakur, 2019). For students internet is
highly beneficial because it provides information according to needs and requirements.
For instance- I have involved in higher education business management course where I
indulge in number of subjects that are useful to develop my career in professional field.
For this I have enhance my knowledge so that productive outcomes are enjoyed. In this
internet helps in a lot as it provides huge information related to my course that helps in
clearing the exam and improve my academics. For other students who are not able to
come institution to study because of high expenses internet is the best source where they
get relevant information which are useful in developing their career and completing
higher education prominently.
 Helpful in researching - Researching is a term that reflects creativity in work. As a
higher education student research is very essential part of study. For instance- I have to
indulge in the business course where my teacher gives me assignment on some specific
topic that I can do my own. At this time i didn’t get depressed because of internet where
relevant information is presented. This helps me completing the project on time. For
other higher education students internet is highly useful as it provide some specific sites

related to research topic which are useful to prominently completing the research and get
profitable results.
 Provide access - Internet is a prominent aspect for me and several other higher education
students in the time of COVID 19 pandemic. At pandemic attack in the world schools and
colleges are closed due to which studies of students are suffered. It mainly impact higher
education students because after completing their higher education they indulge in
developing their professional career. In this internet play a important role as with the help
of this universities provides e-learning facilities to students so that classes on special
topics are not miss out.
 Resource scalability - Internet is highly useful for student’s especially higher education
students as it provides resources to students like books, audios as per their own
convenience (Au-Yong-Oliveira and et. al., 2018). For instance- As a higher education
student, I have to deal in several subjects for this I need books, magazines etc. in this
internet is the best source that provides books and other essential resources on free of
cost. It will not restrict the student to learn new things effectively and efficiently. This
also helps all higher education students to learn knowledge and subjects as per their
convenience.
 Better results - As a higher education student usage of internet enhances the quality of
learning new things due to which productive outcomes are shown out. For instance- after
getting admission in higher education as a student I focused on developing my overall
skills and in this internet is highly useful because it provides relevant information as per
my convenience due to which productive results are enjoyed in my future. It also helps in
developing higher education’s because in this goals are attained on time.
Recommendations on how internet can better be used by higher education students in 21st
century
Internet was developed to allow human to interact with one another in all over the world
in simple and fast way. It is one of the major factors of changing lifestyle and changes in
education system (Hamidi and Chavoshi, 2018). It includes several recommendations associated
with the use of internet by higher education students in 21st century that are demonstrate below:
 Firstly by analyzing above data it is to be recommended that higher education students
used internet for doing creativity what they have learned earlier. Internet is highly useful

to appreciate the creativity of higher education students that helps in gaining their
professional career by developing employability skills.
 Secondly it is to be recommended that internet can effectively be used by higher
education student to save their project files, sharing files etc. that helps in communicating
with teachers. Internet also be used as an interaction tool where students can share own
ideas and listen others by using group calls. Internet has also to be used as notification
tool that notify essential seminars, events related to studies. In 21st century virtual
learning is highly trending due to this internet can effectively be used by students in their
academics.
 Another recommendation related to usage of internet by higher education students is
using the social media tool. It is incredible tool for students that are effectively used by
them in personal, academic and professional life. Within this students can better used
social media tool by assigning the blog post as essays. Higher education students
effectively use internet for creating their own blog where they show the short writing and
critical thinking skills. In 21st century blogs are highly used tool for number of people to
enhance the knowledge. It is beneficial for students to develop their skills and knowledge
without spending money with the high usage of internet. Using this tool creates more
opportunities for students that help in developing their future career. For example- If a
student used internet for writing a blog to other students than they got appreciation. By
getting appreciation he start earning as a higher education students that becomes a big
achievement for students. Hence, it is proved that higher education students can better be
used internet that gives productive results.
CONCLUSION
From above explanation it is to be concluded that internet is one of the best source in
higher education. It is highly essential for every student as it helps in solving issues while
improving knowledge and skills. This report helps in providing knowledge regarding benefits of
internet in higher education. It helps students to research the things effectively and in easy
manner. It also elucidates the several recommendations which are reflecting the use of internet
effectively in gaining higher education. The significance of using internet by students helps in

providing knowledge related to particular that helps in developing their thinking ability and grow
their success.
