INTRODUCTION
In present scenario, learning different types of skills is very important for any of the
individual because it directly or indirectly allows the person to attain their goals in a short time
period. If an individual has several types of skills, then they will be able to develop solve
different types of problem which occurs on a daily basis. Whenever any of the person have
successful employability skills, then it will give them the option to solve different types of
professional problem which will allow them to perform better within the premises of a company.
There are different types of skills which an individual must have and they are time management,
communication skills, problem solving skills and many more. It is crucial for an individual to
understand that all of this skills have a connection with academic performance where student
must be able participate in different kind of activities through which different kinds of activities
can be improved. This types of skills allows the person to handle the situation and give
opportunity to take correct decision whenever any of the similar situation occurs. In context of
the file, reflection will be written on the academics and employment skills which were developed
at the time of pursuing graduation course. Also, it will focus on skills gaps and ways to improve
those gaps.

In present scenario, it is necessary to have different types of skills not just for the purpose
getting better job but it helps to deal different situation which arises on a daily basis. It is because
whenever any of the individual have effective skills, it automatically improves the confidence
level which allows to perform any of the task in decent manner. While pursuing my graduation
course, I realized that any of the field requires skills and knowledge else it will become difficult
task for me to sustain and give competition to other people. If I will have sufficient skill and
knowledge, then I can easily perform better within my professional field. It is academic skills
and knowledge that enhances the individual’s capabilities to perform the task in tough situation.
Talking about the university, there were different course and subject they mainly focus so that
we student can improve out skill as those courses are based on real life situation where impact

and consequences are also shown. It was one of the way through which skills got enhanced and
positive result start to obtain. The situation which were created with the help of example which
are exactly similar to the real life circumstances due to which chances of taking positive decision
has increased within me. Along with conceptual understanding, I have improved number of skills
at the time of my academic courses such as critical thinking skills, digital skills, employability
skills, communication skills, management skills and many more. The subject which was mainly
focused by me was related with Business Management which is one of the most interesting
subject where different knowledge can be obtained related to business and managing day to day
business activity. The main benefit which I got for this particular education field was related with
practical knowledge regarding solving the problem which is generally occurs at the time of
performing any of the business activity.
Talking about the module in the academic field, I can easily say that it has helped to
improve my number of skills. Firstly, writing skill is very important with ability of critical
thinking which I had improved a lot. As I have already discussed before that our model was
completed based on practical knowledge which means that I was able to take some of those
decision which were really helpful for me to improve my academic performance. Even I found
that this academic learning has a direct relation with my professional career so I start to put some
extra efforts which can be helpful for me in enhancing my skills through which I can easily put
extra pressure for giving tough competition. The graduation course has a wider concept which
allowed me to understand that how any of the organization operation and how any of the
organizational activity is performed on a regular basis within the entity. It tough me that without
skills and knowledge, it is very difficult to survive within the market or even within the
company. I worked on the area which were needed to be improved for the purpose of effective
result in professional career. Overall, all of this helped to develop different types of academic
skills which are related with time management, reading, writing skill and many more.
Presentation skills was also among one of the important skills which I had improved through my
academic performance. It was among one of the most important skills which has helped to take
advantage and which has a huge impact for improving my overall performance. As there was
huge pressure on every student because strict instruction was given by the professor where we
had to complete our each and every task with perfection. It was one of the reason I had started to
collect detail knowledge regarding different topics which can help me to improve my overall

performance and skills in many of the skills such as research skills, reading skills, writing skills
and presentation skills. The more you go through different books and magazines, the more you
get idea about theories, models and concepts which are important in day to day life.
Both of the field i.e., academic and employability skills have improved with the help of
model because both of the area requires effective communication skills. And at the time of
pursuing my module, I found that my teachers use to make groups for presenting any of the task
so that performing any of the work becomes easy. In the same manner, I found that while
performing any of the work within the organization, group work is effective which means that
module was helpful for me to develop effective relation with other colleagues through which any
of the task can be completed on specific time period. The another thing which had helped me a
lot was related with performing any of the task within the given time period which has directly
improved my time management skill which is very important in current scenario. If I want to
improve my performance within the business entity, I must be able to complete any of the work
on given time period through which company can easily accomplish their goals and target. The
second most crucial thing was related to writing skills which I had improved through this
module. It was one of the reason that I had a good academic background and even it helps to
prepare written documents within the business organization which has a crucial role in managing
day to day activity. This are some of the import skills which I have learned through this module.
In addition, the practical knowledge which were mainly focused by my teacher were the most
important through which I had improved my employability skills as well as academic skills.
During the time of module, there were number of thing which I got study but still there
were some of the area where I had not improved and which may create issues for me in future
period of time. Some of the skills like problem solving is one of the major problem which I am
facing and even that has a huge importance within the premises of organization. It is because on
a daily basis there are different types of problem which occurs within the business entity which is
required to be solved. The another skill where I think must work for improving it is related with
decision making skills. I thinking although I am quite good but still I am not hundred percent
sure that how any of the decision is required to be make which creates some of the issues for me.
The third skill where I think that I must work is related with technology skill. I don’t have much
and more knowledge regarding latest technologies which plays essential role in performing any

of the work in a very short time duration. If I will be able to working on these three different
skills, then there are higher possibilities that I can improve my overall professional carrier where
tough competition can be seen this day. Even this skill is required in personal life as well so it is
necessary for me to work in these respective skills and for that different kinds of activities are
required to be conducted.
There are different ways through which gap related to enhancing the skills can be fulfilled. But
for that it becomes necessary for me to give focus towards my work because goals are required
to be set and according to that I must work. In order to improve my problem solving skills, it is
necessary for me to identify about the issue at a beginning level as that plays the most crucial.
Then possible solution is required to be identified and according to that decision must be made.
Even I can attain different types of similar through which I can be benefitted for resolving any
sort of problem in a short time period. The second skill where I want to improve is decision
making skill and I can easily say that it is among one of those skill where I must work because
taking right decision at a right time is crucial. For this I must start to analyze different situation
which are similar to the daily basis business activity, secondly I can take the help of seniors who
has been working since long time period. Past decision can also be reviews which has been taken
by other people so that improvement can be brought. Lastly, in order to improve my
technological skills, I must attain different classes which office related programs are being
taught, secondly I can take the help of internet which can guide me about the latest technologies.
This are some of the ways through which I can improve my technological skills and allow me to
accomplish my goals on specific time period.

Form the above discussion, it can be concluded that academic and employability skills
are very important for any of the person in this competitive world. Person having multiple
number of skills in current scenario can easily allow to tackle any of the situation which occurs
in a life on a daily basis. There are number of skills where person lacks but all of those skills can
be easily improved if people can work on those particular filed my showing their efforts.
