INTRODUCTION
Urban Parks means the park which are located in cities. These parks offers to recreation
and provides a space for greenery for the residents of people who are living their and for tourists.
These are maintained by the government agencies on the local level (Charfeddine, 2017). These
parks are used for the purpose of playgrounds, running, fitness, sports fields, picnic facilities and
other activities.
There are many benefits of urban park such as they encourage the people to do physical
activities which leads to their healthy mental and physical health and helps in reducing the stress
of them. The green space provides the high level of satisfaction in life which helps them in
keeping happy from inside (D’Alessio, Avolio and Charles, 2019). It is beneficial for the
environment also. It plays a major role in maintaining the temperature, managing the food and
other raw materials which are necessary for the survival of living beings. Further there are some
challenges faced in allocation the urban parks such as It is difficult to measure the usage of parks
in an area. The authority has to analysis the need for green space. They have to examine the
environmental conditions (Ilias and et. al., 2020). They have to analysis its cost and how to
expand it in developing the urban parks.
The main objective behind this report is to analysis the impacts of developing the urban
parks on Health, Economic and Social Impacts . This report has discussed about these impacts so
that it will be easy for the authority to determine the needs of urban parks in United Kingdom
(VanLangen and et. al., 2020). The main focus of this report is on the Economic Impact which
includes the job opportunities, what is the cost to the tax payer of building the park and attraction
of new enterprises to develop in that area.
ANALYSIS
This report is discussed about the benefits and challenges which are associated with
urban parks so it makes easy for authority to make corrective actions and strategies in order to
deal with challenges. In addition to this identifying the different impacts which are as follows:
The Economic Impacts: The urban park helps in saving the energy by the development
of the vegetation process it helps in reducing the cost of cooling the building because green spac
and trees helps in maintaining the temperature of the surroundings(Dillaman 2020). They also
helps in managing the water resources as the utilised water can be further utilised for the plants

which helps in saving the water. The value of property increases due to the green space in the
area because parks creates the beauty of the place (Irby and O'sullivan, 2018). Some more
impacts on economy are discussed below: Job Creation: The development of urban parks helps in creating job opportunities for
both long term and short term. This means that giving employment opportunities during
the development of the parks such as designing it, construct it or to maintain the park and
other related work (Nesbitt and et. al., 2019). This helps in enhancing the economy
growth as they provide employment for their population. The public has to pay tax so that the authority can develop the parks: The people has to
pay taxes on their earned income which the government use to construct the urban parks
which helps them in maintaining the environment of surrounding (Ng, Xie and Cheng,
2020). These parks are made for their benefits only such as they can use it for the purpose
of their fitness, walk, sports activities, meditation, yoga this helps them in maintaining
their both physical as well as mental health. Attraction of new businesses in area: The construction of parks leads to new
opportunities for the business or enterprises to start their innovation in that area according
to the needs and wants of their local customers (Watted and Barak, 2018). The business
man can make the small stores for healthy food, small kids zone, equipments which are
used for exercising fitness workout. The development of urban parks helps and attract the
industries, workers or business man to plan their ideas in a way to full fill the demands of
the customers. Labour productivity: The health conditions of environment leads to affect the
productivity. The green environment helps in increase the productivity of the workforce
as they provides health benefits like lower the stress, reduce health problems and
absenteeism (Quinn and Buzzetto-Hollywood, 2019). The mental is the most important
part of working every enterprise demands a good mental health which can be full filled
by the parks, as the urban parks helps the organisation in requiring mental peace to their
employees. This leads to the reduction in cost of recruitment and training new staffs for
the employer.
Tourism: The urban parks helps in creating the beauty of the state which further leads to
increase in the tourism sector. This sector helps in generating revenues for the

managing and preserving the environment which helps in attracting the people of the

The Health Impacts: Developing Urban parks are important for maintaining the health
and fitness of the individuals who are residing their. It acts as an natural medicine for the
recovery of several types of diseases (Roussin and Weinstock, 2017). The chemicals which are
present in the environment leads to the major life ending diseases threats for an individuals.
There are following impacts which are as follows: Green space impact on health: This helps in balancing the ecological system. This helps
in reducing the heat of the environment which has an effect on health of the living beings.
This leads to the improvement in the quality of life as they provide clean air and reduces
the pollution of the place (Mehr and et. al., 2017). Easy access to the green space helps in
promoting the mental health which can be done by doing meditation and other exercises.
This helps in restoring the ability of working in more attentive manner and leads to
concentrate on the work more. The people living near to the urban parks are founded with
less diseases like depression, anxiety, diabetes, heart problems, problems related to
respiratory system etc. Green space impact on well-being: The parks helps individuals to maintain their health
which leads to their life more comfortable and healthy (Wen, Albert and Von Haaren,
2018). The harmful chemicals which use to extract by the industries or vehicles which
has an directly or indirectly harms the health of the individuals which are residing their.
The parks provides an platform where they can easily workout on their health like gym,
fitness exercise, walk, meditation and other activities which helps them in keeping their
mind happy and stress free (McCallum and et. al., 2020).
Challenge to encourage the use of parks: For providing the healthy environment the
authority can construct and develop the urban parks but it is another challenge for them to
attract the individuals so that they can access the parks and the objective of the authority
can be full filled (Meiners-Lovel, 2020). They can utilised this as an health enrichment
centres by the local people who are residing their and motivate others also so that they
can utilise the parks.

platform to meet and interact with the new individuals generally who are residing near to their
place (Mortensen, Brix and Krogstrup, 2020). This helps the individuals to refresh them self by
meeting new people and helps in reducing their mental stress. The impacts from social
perspective includes:
Community development: The urban parks may helps in developing the social contact
between the individuals as this leads to make new friends and connections (Chaplin,
2017). This development helps the people in solving their problems of loneliness and
helps them to reduce their mental stress and other mental problems.
Gentrification: The urban parks may helps in altering the character of near by things by
the people who are moving to improve the housing facilities which attracts the new
entrepreneurs to open their businesses while filling the demands of their customers who
are living their (Zhang and Dobbs-Oates, 2019).
This helps the society to come together for the common goal of promoting the sustainable
development of the environment and work together to achieve it. This can be only possible when
each individual promises to come together to maintain the parks and promote the natural setting
of the environment. This is done for the ultimate benefits of the people living their as well as for

kinds at the early age and beneficial for the young and old generations.

in every living being. Urban parks are located in the metropolitan areas where the working of the
people is too much hectic so they require more peace for their health and long survival. The
parks has a many positive outcomes for the development of all creatures. This leads to the

sharing their stress, sorrows and happiness among each other. This helps in reducing the

The authority must develop many parks so that they can boost the good and healthy
lifestyle for all creatures. This helps in enhancing the life style of the humans. The
councils must promote and motivate public to engage themselves in health and fitness
activities. They must organised different activities so that they can attract more and more
individuals to participate in urban parks which helps them in creating positive attitude
towards their health.
The authority must provide the guidelines so that they can promote to engage the physical
disabled persons so that they can be encouraged to participates in those activities. This
leads to the provide equal opportunities for every one whether they are suffering from
any kind of disease. This helps in filling a gap between the people and helps the society
to promote the unity among the individuals of the society. This leads to the elimination of
discrimination on the bases of colour, gender, culture, background.
The authority can organise different different campaigns in the urban park which can be
related to health and environment. They can organise interesting activities of
competitions in local areas and give attractive rewards when they earn. The council can
prepare the policies about the rules when any individual find guilty of plucking flowers,
littering, throwing waste material in the premises and damage to the property of urban
parks. Then they can impose a good amount of penalty on that person upon proved. This
helps in generating an lesson for others also so that all come together to maintain the
premises. This will leads to clean and healthy urban park.
