INTRODUCTIONProfessional Studies refers to the term which is used in order to differentiate academicprograms which are applied or interdisciplinary in focus. These studies are mainly related tostudents and they are also trained enough to make sure expected standards and adequate servicedelivery in the best practise of the profession in which they will work. The following assignmentwill provide literature review on importance of training and development programs on improvingefficiency of employees and organisation along with discussion related to case study will also bedone. Additionally, it will discuss about impact of 4th Industrial Revolution on business ofuniversity education along with reflection of learning and development with the help of studies(Ashworth and Perera, 2015). MAIN BODY1. Literature review of business related topicImpact of training and development program on improving efficiency of employees as well asorganizationAccording to Asad. M. 2019 training refers to the process through which individualsknowledge about specific area is enhanced. There are many changes taking place in externalmarket such as alteration in technology, up- gradation of software, installation of new machinery,etc. so with the help of training, it is easy to enhance their knowledge training not only improvesknowledge of workers but it also benefits to organisation too. There is development in theknowledge of employee with training and they are able to use and implement new techniques atwork place. There are many organisation working, so if employees does not get opportunities ofgrowth and development then they might switch to other brand (Leki, 2017). There are manybenefits of training program of employees such as improved performance, enhancing knowledgeabout latest trends, satisfaction and morale development, etc. There are different methods through which knowledge of workers can be improved byproviding training such as on the job and off the job training methods. Training and developmentrequires time as well as cost because it requires proper planning and then its implementation.Hence it is essential to understand which method is best and relevant in context of learning andwithin budget of organisation. 1

On the job training- This method refers to the process which is provided to newcandidates in organisation at work place. So in this case there is implantation of learning at workplace as well so with the help of on the job training individual is able to implement it at workplace while learning, so it is easy for workers to determine flaws in the method. This method istime and cost effective because when Candidate is learning, they are implementing it to theiroperations, so in this case organisation is making candidate learn in working hours, soindividuals are productive for organisation (Lenger, 2018). Under this method: coaching,mentoring, job rotation, apprenticeship, etc. are included with the help of which people are ableto candidate is learning. Job rotation is the process through which individual is transferred tosome other department or similar designation, through which they are able to learn what ishappening in other departments. When workers are working in different departments, then it iseasy for company to perform activities with getting flaws because of absence of employees. Sowith job rotation, working style of overall organisation can be maintained and employees haveknowledge about working style of different departments. So with the help of on the job rotation,there is growth and development organisation and knowledge and skill of employees. Off the job training- This is the method under which employees are send to some otherplace apart from business organisation and its environment. There is requirement of more fundsfor arranging off the job training methods and this is conducted for more people. There is use ofdifferent methods such as lectures, conferences, vestibule training, case study, role playing, etc.which can be performed by taking individual at some other place. This method is performed forexperienced employees of organisation with the help of which they can refresh themselves andperform activities in appropriate and relevant manner (Lukinbeal and Monk, 2015). Today era is dynamic because of change in market policies, working style, consumerdemand, etc. so in this case there is benefits to organisation as well as workers. As per view ofRyan Ayers, 2019 as there are some personal targets to workers as well which they want toachieve. When employees are getting knowledge about latest trends, they are competent toexternal market. Benefits of training and development for employees are as under-Improvising weak points- With the help of training and development program,employees are able to improve their weak points. For instance: workers lacks in IT skills, thenwith the help of training program, worker is able to improve this skill. This also assist inperforming activities as comparison to other employees. 2
