2ACADEMIC COMMUNICATIONIntroductionThe educational world in the present times have become much more competitive thanit was a few decades agoand it is a reflection of this that most of the students aspire to getgood grades for their various assignments as well as exams(Stewart, Stott & Nuttall, 2016).Therefore, it is often seen that the students often end up taking the help of unethical means ina bid to earn good grades for their assignments as well as exams (Busse & Walter, 2013).However, that should not be the case it is the ethical responsibility of the students to take thehelp of only fair means for the enhancement of their performance which is often measured interms of the grades which they get for their assignments and exams (Zhang et al., 2015).Thusit becomes very important for the various educational institutions to effectively motivate thestudents to enhance their performance. Thus, it would be apt to say that to earn good gradesthe students should seek to be ethical and at the same time the various educational institutionsshould try to motivate the students in an effective manner.Students and the curriculumStress and the need to perform wellIn the opinion of Bonneville-Roussy et al., (2016), the amount of stress which thevarious university students face in the present time on the score of the increased of syllabuswith which they need to deal with and also the stringent exams has pushed many of thestudents to take the help of unethical means. Furthermore, the nature of the educationalsystem is such that it judges the intelligence level of the students and their capabilities interms of the grades which they for their exams as well as assignments. Kima et al., (2014) areof the opinion that it is a reflection of this particular fact in the various universities there exista bridge between the high performers as well as the low performers related to the universities

Therefore, it is often seen that the various students end up taking the help ofthe unethical means to enhance their performancewhich though enables them to score goodgrades but reduces their self efficacy.Performance of the studentsIn the present framework of the society the capability as well as the talent of thevarious individuals is accessed on the basis of the marks which they have scored in thevarious exams and the assignments. In the opinion of Stewarta, Stottb & Nuttall (2016), thestudents often fail to achieve their study goals and also fail to manage their time in aneffectively manner. Therefore to order to enhance their performance the students often end uptaking the help of various kinds of unethical means which is not only wrong but unfair for theother students who try to get good through ethical as well as fair means (Zhang et al., 2015).Thus, it becomes one of the primary roles of the various teachers as well as the supervisorsrelated to the educational institutions to motivate the students to enhance the level of theirengagement in the activities of the class to which they belong.Motivation and performanceStudents and effective motivationThe concept of motivation plays a key role not only in the business world but also inthe educational world as well. In the opinion of Nayir (2016), the various teachers andprofessors related to the educational institutions should try to effective motivate the studentsnot only to increase their participation level in the various class activities but also in a bid tomake them perform in a much better manner. Furthermore, Kim et al., (2014) are of theopinion that effective motivation can help the students to bridge the gap between the so calledhigh performers and the low performers belonging to the university as well as the college.
