INTRODUCTION
Academic integrity is the act of fairness, honesty, trust and responsibilities that are
expected out of the members who belong to the academic community such as the students, the
researchers, the teachers etc. It is one important factor in the universities, as it leads to the bright
future of both the teachers' and the students. This report comprises, a description of the academic
integrity, importance of the academic integrity, implications of the misconduct of the integrity
and reflection on the difficulties encountered while designing the game. Furthermore, the report
will also discuss the skills that are learnt during the course and the skills that are required for
designing the game.
MAIN BODY
SECTION 1
Description and introduction of the Academic Integrity
Academic integrity refers to realizing publications and people who influence directly or
indirectly the thinking power of an individual. It provides a responsibility to an individual of
behaving appropriately in the academic context. It pays emphasis on completing the individual
assignments with integrity and all by the self (Awasthi, 2019). Academic integrity is the trust,
respect, fairness, responsibility and honesty that is expected out of the students, teachers,
researchers and all the other members who belong to the academic circle. These people are
expected to put values and qualities into practice with complete honesty in the academic work
that is done in the universities. It is the fairness that is hold towards the other people in the
premises and adhering the responsibility of following and learning the scholarship conventions.
Academic integrity can be maintained by doing the following:
1. Regular attending the classes
2. Clarifying the instructions
3. Planning ahead
4. A right idea for the assistance
5. Follow instructions
6. Do the work assign (own by own)

Discussion on the importance of Academic Integrity.
Academic integrity is one important factor in the various people life be it students, be it
teachers or be it the universities. It is the way and a right manner in which every individual
should act at the workplace. Where the academic integrity for the students is to behave and do all
the work own by own and with utmost honesty, academic integrity for the teachers involve their
responsibilities that they are supposed to do on every day basis with utmost sincerity. This way it
plays a very crucial role in the lives of individuals (Biagioli and et.al.,2019). For example; the
academic integrity helps the staff and the students with the freedom for building the new ideas, it
helps in building a whole new base of knowledge, in expanding their area of critical thinking and
in various other things. This is one thing that contributes a lot more than one can imagine to the
lives of people. It is inculcated during the period of university but it is helpful throughout the
life. It creates a base of everything that is required and enhances a person's personality. There are
a good deals of other importance of academic integrity, of which, here are some:
It leads to the near future success. As the academic integrity establishes a good base of
knowledge, it gives a person best chances in the future to prove oneself.
It avoids failures. By learning the academic integrity one can avoid failing in the
graduation years and do the tasks assigned independently effectively ad efficiently.
What all is learnt in the universities, set a base for achieving everything in the future. So
doing the work with integrity will only lead the individuals to a bright future.
It develops new ideas and also lets the one who check the work see, form where have the
ideas come from.
It enhances the creative thinking power of an individual as academic integrity allows to
learn all the things with utmost honesty.
It enhances the critical power of an individual as it develops a new understanding and
helps the individuals to thinks all the odd and even in the right possible manner.

Discussing the implications of Academic Misconduct
Academic misconduct is simply defined as gaining of an advantage in a manner which
unfair. It involves plagiarism, contract cheating, collusion and the fabrication and possession of
the unauthorized data during the examinations (Grira and Jaeck, 2019). It is most common in the
universities but it is also something that harms the future if the students. As the academic
misconduct disturb the base and the root area of the students' development. Academic
misconduct make things simpler in the universities and helps the students in doing the tasks and
assignments easily, but it is also something that hold an adverse impact on the future of the
students (Alleyne and Thompson, 2019). The irony is, though it the most common act that is
done in universities but it is also the one act that should be avoided at any cost. Academic
misconduct holds very bad implications of which some are here:
Failures and Low self-esteem- Academic integrity creates a base of knowledge and
misconduct of this integrity destroys that base (Parnther, 2022). So, when the students do
not get the sources of cheating they fail and their self-esteem is affected highly.
Suspensions- On being caught for the misconduct of the academic integrity, the students
or the teachers are suspended and their entire image that was created in the past year, year
harmed.
Difficulty in making careers- The misconduct disrupts the base of the knowledge and
adds no value to the degree of the students. This creates difficulty for the students who
follow such misconduct.
SECTION 2
Reflection over the step which has taken and difficulties which are encountered during
development of game
Creating a game was not an easy task it demands for pure hard work, initially I was very
nervous when I heard that this is going to be our assignment that is based on academic integrity.
Initially I have proceeded with developing the knowledge in what is academic integrity and how
it makes sense in academic course (De Bruijn and et.al, 2019). Initially I have done the internet
searching to look for the idea of game which focus on main topic and do not distract from main
topic academic integrity. I have encountered the difficulty in terms of paid category of website,
Document Page
where I have found that some of the website which I was referring to falls under the category of
paid, however I have managed this problem by using the information that is present in published
articles. By using the information, I came to the point to design flip the card game for that reason
students requires to log in account for authentication purpose. Second problem which I have
encountered in terms of time where i was in a situation where I have only arranged the resources
and required things but I have realised that I am lift with limited time, I have considered such
situation as alarming situation where I was worried to design the game in possible deadline. In
order to cope up with this situation I have scheduled the task based on its priority that helped me
a lot in order to deliver the project outcome in no time and on suggested timeline.
I have proceeded with further stage that was about to select the right question that will be
pasted on cards, selecting the questions requires a lot of time as well as I found that some of my
question does not address the academic integrity topic, so I further changed it which takes a lot
of time. but with the help of notes and peers or professor support I have not given up, instead it
gave me motivation and again I have started to set the question which concern with my topic.
Therefore, I have set all the right question which took some time but it was worth for it as
professor has praised me regarding my selection of questions (Meissner and Shmatko, 2019).
Further I have found the problem in providing the alternative in options, as it was complete time
consuming process to search out the possible alternatives which can be mentioned over the cards
so that students who plays the game can select it on the basis of their understanding and
knowledge. Therefore, I can call it as a roller coaster ride where I have seen ups and down but at
the end I was able to deliver thee game which helped me a lot to get top marks in my class as
well as I was praised by everyone who was present at the presentation hall. It’s true that I have
encountered several problems but because of my dedication and support from peers, family and
tutor I was able to complete the project on time with greater efficiency.
Reflection on skills that has learned
Skills plays a significant role in every aspect, as for the academic student it is important for
me to have relevant skill set that will assist me in my better career path (Anderson, Weimer and
Fuhs, 2020). Throughout the academic session I have learnt different knowledge and skills on the
basis of this I am ready to solve any problem and to complete any project. Earlier before I was
not able to manage my time which always imposed certain challenges for me but by working on
Document Page
a project I have learnt that by scheduling the work and to break into smaller modules time
difficulty can be solved, thus I have used this skill in my game designing project where I was in a
situation where time was limited but important tasks was also uncompleted. By using this skill, I
have divided project work in different modules and I have picked the most important one this
skill helped me a lot to deliver the project on time. I remember that I lacks in communication
skill, as I was not confident about my speaking skills, professor always provided us an
opportunity to come forward and speak over any topic in front of other team members. From
where I have started the developing this skill, as by discussing within group and discussing topic
in front of other gave me the confidence, thus I have improvised my communication skills
(Ivanović and et.al, 2019). Therefore, during game designing project, I have used this skill to
collect the data where I have also tested this game with my seniors, for that I have passed my
message to them which influence them to be part of such an exciting game.
The most important skill which I have learnt is decision making skill, I was not sure
about it that I had this skill previous before, but for the project every decision has been taken by
me which eventually improvised this skill in me, as every small decision that made on project
was taken by me (Gurbuz, Hanley and Riby, 2019). Other skill I have learnt is problem solving
skill as I was already aware of the fact that this skill plays a significant role to mitigate any
complexity of the problem, like in my project I have found some solution for the problem which
I have encountered also for such problems which was out of my box I have consulted it with my
professor, it helped me a lot to found suitable solution for the problem. therefore, overall I have
learnt a lot and developed range of skills and knowledge in me.
CONCLUSION
From the above task it has been observed that academic integrity is the behaviours that is
expected out of the students, teachers and other people who belong to the education
avckgr4ound. It is the honesty, trust, fairness that every individual should act with in their
following workplaces. This report includes a description of academic integrity, importance f the
academic integrity, implications of the academic integrity and reflections on the difficulties that
were encountered during the game designing. The report also showcased skills both, that were
learnt during the academic year and the skills that were required for designing the game.
