Academic integrity is extremely important at
universities as it provides students as well as teachers
to build new ideas, knowledge and work creatively by
simultaneously respecting as well as acknowledging
others work.
Academic integrity at universities is important because
it directly help educators in developing ethics, honesty
among students which eventually helps in development
of moral and ethical values among students.
Academic integrity directly helps in development of
trust among educators that students will be doing their
work honestly, and are not copying others work
Plagiarism game is a game whose main intention is
to test student knowledge of importance of academic
integrity, plagiarism, and ways in which academic
integrity by students can be maintained.
In this game assessor will consist of 40 cards with
different questions on academic integrity of four
colours and each card will be of 5 points.
Students will be divided into 4 teams and will be
asked to choose a colour and will be asked all the
questions from those cards only and will be awarded
points for each correct answer. Team with maximum
points at the end of game is the winner.

Instructions for playing the game
This game is known as plagiarism game in which knowledge of students about academic integrity
and plagiarism will be checked.
This game will be played in teams where students will be divided into 4 teams.
Students will be required to answer questions asked to them. Each correct answer will be rewarded
with 5 points to team and wrong answers or no answer will be given 0 points.
This game is important for students because this game will not only help students in enhancing their
knowledge about academic integrity and plagiarism but will also make them understand how
important plagiarism is to be adhered in universities.
There are 20 students in classroom and all the 20 students will be divided into 4 teams.
Professor will be having 40 cards of four different colours that are red, blue, green and yellow.
Each team will be asked to select a colour and will be asked further questions from that particular
colour card only.

Turn by turn each team will be asked questions to be answered and each team will be given 30
seconds to answer the question if they do not answer question or do not answer it correctly within
30 seconds then they will be provided with zero marks.
All the cards will consist of different questions but all the questions will be multiple choice
questions.
All the teams will be provided with an option to discuss and choose a colour for their team but
only 2 minutes for this process will be provided to them.
Professor will be providing correct answer of questions asked after 30 seconds and before asking
next questions but final points will be provided to students after all the questions have been asked.
Team with maximum points will be the winner.

There are various factors that can help in explaining importance of academic integrity within
universities. Academic integrity helps a student in investing their time and efforts positively in
studying for their course or degree (Stoesz and Eaton, 2020).
It directly provides students with an opportunity to learn, bring improvement within their current
skills, enhance knowledge, develop new and required skills that can further help them in achieving
desired academic goals in an effective manner.
Adhering academic integrity in universities is further important for students to adhere because it
