INTRODUCTION
Strategies, habits addition to abilities which assist students in achieving success within
academic setting are said to academic skills. In educational institutions, academic skills enhance
productivity together with the success of students (Abbott and Nininger, 2021). At same time,
academic integrity is an expectation which students, professors, researchers as well as other
affiliates of academic community work with fairness, responsibility, honesty and respect.
Present report is prepared in two sections, in which, Section one highlights academic
integrity, its importance in higher education and implications of misconduct. On other hand,
Section two involves reflection of steps that are undertaken and complexities encountered while
producing a game. The section also covers skills learned in the academic year and producing the
game.
SECTION ONE
Description related to academic integrity
The term academic integrity refers to fundamental to learning, teaching along with research
at the university it allows the students and staff the freedom to build new ideas, knowledge along
creative work. Integrity refers to the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles
(Bretag, 2019). Integrity is everywhere at the university, whether learning, teaching, researching
or working, members of the community must conduct them honestly. It provides an idea offering
conceptual framework and guide by shared value and norms of behavior in all aspects of one’s
academic work. It means centring the academic journey around the core values of honesty,
respect, fairness together with responsibility.
University expects their staff and student to contribute in a positive environment where
academic integrity is upheld in all work. Institutes aim to create good surroundings where
individuals learn from the resources and ideas of others while bringing about their own thoughts
and conclusions. Schools secure that all the members require to understand their rights and
authority under the academic integrity and student code of conduct. It is a guiding principle in
education and choice to act in a responsible way whereby others can trust in us as an individual.
It is the base for ethical decision-making and conduct in the production of genuine and honest
scholarly work (Brown, 2018). It should be part of the ethical culture of any educational
institution, be that primary school or a university. It is a cornerstone for any institute it requires

respect for any acknowledgment of the work and attempt of others. It is crucial to a high level of
teaching and learning. The strategy of every college regarding carrying out academic integrity in
a fair and patient manner and assessment program in a timely manner. Infraction of academic
integrity can include, but are not limited to cheating and plagiarism.
Discussion of importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic integrity is acting with the values of honesty, trust, fairness along with
responsibility in learning (Cole, Shelley and Swartz, 2018). It is important for every teacher,
student and all staff members to act in honest way or be responsible for their actions also show
humanity in every part of work. Integrity help the students to be confident on who are they as a
person. When students are not valued integrity then they can’t help with their self-esteem and are
not honest about their morals and values. In higher education, importance of academic integrity
are as discussed:
Promotes ethical behaviour – Integrity is embedded in principle of ethical behaviour such
as, quality, sense of responsibility, trustworthiness etc (Denisova-Schmidt, 2021). It helps to
recognize and appreciate the work done by other scholars, eliminate exam cheating along with
this also give instructor to take responsibility to perform their duty.
Promotes creativity and innovation – Through educational honesty instructors are able to
have a direct and accurate view of the presentation of students and therefore be able to help
scholars to upgrade their performance. Academic uprightness is established on honesty and
equality values.
Opportunity for career advancement – Advancement in career higher education is hang on
in integrity that a specific learning institutes display. Report about high level of integrity escalate

Implications related to academic misconduct

plagiarism, possession of unauthorised materials, collusion and fabrication of data in an
examination. It is an offense activity against values of academic community wherein participants
are students and staff. One of obvious consequence or implication of academic misconduct is
penalties that are imposed by an educational establishment on offending students. Students when
found performing academic misconduct, huge penalties are imposed by university. In
determination of imposition of penalty, panel or board of university are required to consider
student’s past academic integrity report along with conduct record of a learner.
Inaccurate assessment is another consequence of academic integrity. When a student cheat
or get higher plagiarism level, teachers cannot correctly assess performance of student or
evaluate mastery of knowledge or skills of a learner essential in the field (Kalra and Vogel,
2021). As an outcome, educational institutions might grant credentials on students who do not
deserve them leading to serious practical ramification in workplace.
When a student commits activity causing academic misconduct is granted credentials that
they successfully completed course of study that they have not causes practical concerns in the
establishment. For instance, when a learner obtained credential for practicing law or management
with the help of academic dishonesty or misconduct, welfare and safety are jeopardising.

integrity. While producing the game, there are certain steps undertaken by and challenges

Play Honesty Bingo:
Pick a concept – First, generate a few game ideas to see what kind of game i want to
make. Play Honesty Bingo was my first game so I start with small after that survey the different
genres and subgenres like what kind of media is current. Then I start to write down the game
design after that I think about the possible features or mechanics of game. In this step, I
encountered complexity of picking concept as there are various alternatives available to me.
Gather information - For creating a game large research is need to be done, investigate
the type of game then generate the design document of game. The group design report is brief of
and outline all the crucial details like game mechanics, category, world building, story, together
with marketing strategy. As a game designer, I need to conclude which game programming
language I need to apply in my game. While producing Play Honesty Bingo, I encountered issue
of collecting information about choices of students as they tends to make changes in their
preferences with changing scenarios.
Start building – After completing all the research I go ahead to development the
substructure of game. For Play Honesty Bingo, I need to select the leading programming
language along with the game engine for the idea, then During this stage of development I get

In the academic year, I have learnt about various skills which I focused to use while
producing the game. Some skills are as follows:
Excellent communicator – Game developer need to spend a lot of time with their team
members through mails, chat or face to face. This means they need to be attentive every time to
understand what other team players are trying to say and clarify what other saying when player
having trouble in understanding something. In Play Honesty Bingo, team payer should be aware
and able to express their thoughts and ideas in a concise manner that others can understand.
Creative – Developer needs to be creative and individual approach to try and identify
some difficult defects and warning in the game (Singhal, 2021). While developing Play Honesty
Bingo, I required to be imaginative they help me in developing gameplay mechanics and build
the architecture that allows player to navigate through video games worlds. They need to be
more creative and able to distinguish their game from other competitors.
Software programming – Animation and graphics occupy a central position in game
development after all these aspects accentuate the aesthetic and lure gamers towards a purchase
decision (Pratt, 2021). In Play Honesty Bingo, programming is the most important part of mine
job I used coding to create a game which they want to design. Developer must be familiar with
motion graphics, 3D, along with stop motion techniques.
Ability to collaborate with others – The process of creating a video game is not done
with single person. In Play Honesty Bingo, there are multitude of teams and departments all
work in collaboration to ensure that game is finished on time and ready to come in stores.
Everyone who is working on developing the game together should be mindful of how their work
effect the team as a whole.
Problem solving – Whenever working with technology, be pretty sure always expect the
technical glitches to occur (Ransome and Newton, 2018). The Play Honesty Bingo need to be
prepared with technology to create problems and also know about what to do to solve problems
and keep things running smoothly. Developers need to be calm and be patient and trying to solve
the problem on time.

CONCLUSION
As per mentioned information in the report, it is concluded that good study skills and
competence foster confidence, self-esteem together with competence to achieve academic goals.
Academic integrity for a student is making ethical decisions, following instructions as well as
asking questions even facing complex circumstances at higher education. Penalties, inaccurate
assessment, practical concerns and low self-esteem are certain implications concerned to
academic misconduct. Skills including creativity, software programming, collaboration and
problem solving are focused while developing a game.
