Introduction
Academic skills are those skills which are used by the student in managing their
studies, studying and doing their work. Such type of skills is used by the students in
University and it is also important for them to gain good grades in the exam. If such skills
are not present in a student, then they will not be able to grab things because they are
not having the required skills. When the skills are available to students then they feel
confident enough and also helps in improving their retention skills(Kühling-Thees and et.
al., 2020). Students will be able to achieve their goals effectively and this will help them
in achieving success in their career. This report will cover meaning and importance of
academic integrity with its implications. It will also include the steps which have been
taken and the difficulties encountered in the designing of a game with the skills which
have been learned in academic year and in producing game.
Section 1
An Introduction including a description of Academic Integrity
Academic integrity is the ethical process in which students have to act in
ethical terms while they are studying. Ethical terms include to work with fairness,
honesty and respect so that they can get success in their life without doing anything
which is not considered to be as fair and moral. Teachers are also responsible for
ensuring that no students are working in unethical way. Academic integrity is
considered when the student is not engaged in any cheating or copying things which
will not be good for the career and for grabbing any new opportunities.
When the student will be focusing and doing their work in full ethical manner
then they will be learning new things on their own. If the students will learn things on
their own and will be doing their assignments without copying it from others, then this
will be helpful for them only (Miller and et. al., 2020). The main aim of academic
integrity for the students and for teachers is just to help them in building and learning
new things but on the same side it is also important that they are working in ethical
terms. It is to put that practice in regular terms so that students will learn the actual
importance of learning things on their own rather than taking help from others. It is
very important for the Universities also to inculcate in their learning the meaning and
importance of academic integrity. The importance for this is that if they will not be
focusing on such type of things then there are chances that the image of University

gets fallen. They have to build their standards and trustworthiness so that people can
keep trust on such institutions so that students can go there to take their further
studies. If students will be learning and developing the things on their own, then they
will be able to make and develop new ideas which will indirectly be showing their
ability of creativity. They will also be having the knowledge as which path they have
to choose which will work out to be the best in their career success.
A discussion of the importance of academic integrity in higher
education
Academic integrity is the process of providing values to students in terms of
being honest and fair in the studies and the assignments which they do. The
students must be having the information of about the knowledge of copyright and
privacy so that before doing anything they are knowing how they have to conduct
things. Academic integrity plays an important role both for the students as well as for
University. In which the students if behave with full integrity then they will be
developing the knowledge and all the information by themselves only(Springer and
et. al., 2019). There are chances that they might have to face the problem in the
beginning of their stage but later on they would have developed the things far better
than they were in their initial time. Developing knowledge will help them to gain more
information about those things and will be able to become confident in the things.
This has been seen that if not in the present time but students will be facing the
issue in their future time when they have to face the challenges and will have to give
the interviews.
Integrity will help the students to work with fairness and honesty and this will
ultimately result in taking degree with utmost fairness. Students take degrees so that
they can gain more information and develop new skills but if this will be done in a
dishonest manner then there will be no objective of taking higher degrees and
investing their time in studying(Palermo and et. al., 2021). For the University also
developing and providing the knowledge of academic integrity will give the
information that the University does not gives any permission for any misconduct. If
they will be working on their standards, then the students do not have to face the

problem in their future and will also create the problem for the University also.
Academic integrity is related with fairness, showing honesty in the work and not
doing anything which is not moral and is unethical. If University will be promoting the
method of not using any method which will be regarded as cheating, then no student
will indulge in such type of things(Salam and et. al., 2019). Cheating is not a good
thing which will be affecting the career and learning opportunities of students only
and they will not be developing any new things in themselves. This will create the
problems for students in their future time only in which they will not be able to make
the decision on the track which they have to choose for the success in their life.
Discuss the implications of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct is related with doing cheating which is related with the
studies and academics only. This is usually done by students and the main reason
for doing such type of thing is that students don’t want to learn things and take the
easiest steps in which they can get good grades. There are some of the factors
which indicates academic misconduct and those are explained below-
Plagiarism- Plagiarism is the method which is used by students in which they
take the material of another person and they copy it in their names. This can
be their new and different idea which the person has taken it in their names.
Doing such type of thing is considered to be violating the academic integrity
and using a misconduct which will ultimately be creating the problem for the
students itself. No university supports such type of thing where students are
copying the things of other person.
Cheating- Cheating can be defined as the way which is related with that of
doing a fraud in giving the exams or doing any assignments. Mainly students
use this method in their exam in which they try to copy the things from other
students(McKevett and Kiss, 2019). Cheating is not good for the students and
every academic institutions tries to develop standards where such type of
things is not allowed.

Section 2
Reflect on the steps you have taken, and difficulties encountered in
producing the game for Assignment 2
In producing game, there were many difficulties and complexities which I have to
face. Some of the difficulties which I have to face by producing that game has been
discussed below-
Team management- For producing any game, there requires a team which
will be having some or the other skills where those skills will be playing an
important role. Team is very important for such type of things but managing
the team is also the important factor which plays an important role in better
results formulation (Han and Yi, 2019). I found it really very difficult to work
with so many people and to make them understand about all the things which
are to be required in game formation.
To find a right concept- It is important for producing a game to identify the
concept in which the game will be developed. In the initial time of launching a
game I felt very difficult to identify that which topic I have to chose and how to
make that game effective. But still it was difficult, for which I have to conduct a
research which will be helpful to me in the needs which are related and what
will be the best way for making and identifying the plagiarism (LUO, WU and
FANG, 2019).
Raising funds- The other thing which I found it very difficult was to raise the
funds for the gaming application. Making a game requires huge investment
and for this it becomes very important because producing a game requires lot
of time and money and if such things will not be provided to me then it will be
difficult for me to start and launch a game(Sharma and Shekhawat, 2020).
Reflect on the skills you have learned this academic year and those
emphasized in producing your game
There were many skills which I have learned in my academics and during the time of
producing a game and those skills are mentioned below-
Time management- I have learned the skills of time management both in my
academics and both in making a game which has helped me a lot. Time

management is the most important thing which has to be learned by every
individual and which will be helpful for the people. Time management helped
me in learning that how to manage things in a proper way which directly
helped me in my development of a game.
Communication skill- In my academics I have developed the skills of
communication with different people which in the end helped me a lot. This
has started from asking questions to teachers during the lectures when I was
unable to get the proper solution of it(Elek and Page, 2019). I used to
communicate with students also for solving my difficulties and this is the only
way which has helped me in developing good relations with people.
Communication skills has helped me in managing my team which I have to
prepare for the game which I have launched.
Risk taker- For producing a game, it is important for the person to develop
the attitude of risk taking. The main reason for this is that developing a idea
for the game is the most difficult thing and on the other side producing a game
with the unique idea does not gives the surety that if it will be successful. This
was the issue and I am not that type of person who usually takes the risk. But
developing a game motivated me to become the personality of taking a risk.
Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that it is important for the student
to develop certain academic skills so that they can get good grades in their
academics. Also learning academic skills makes the student more confident enough
as they are taking the things in a more reliable manner. If the skills will be developed
in a student, then they will be more successful in their career and will be able to take
new opportunities which will be helpful for them in developing their growth curve.
