INTRODUCTION Motivation is an influential thing that enables a person to do task or activity in the most effective manner. It is intrinsic and extrinsic in nature. From a student's point of view, students are intrinsically influenced and motivated to study and learn when they comprehend that they have a high degree of autonomy along with involve in an activity by their own and willingly, instead they are being highly controlled(Brunstein and Heckhausen, 2018). In an academic setting, teachers need to use different techniques and tools to motivate their students so that they can study hard and perform towards their study as well as accomplish good grades in the exams. In this assignment, the topic which is chosen is motivation. TASK Motivation Motivation refers as a procedure that guides, initiates and maintains goal-oriented behaviours. It allows a student to act, behave and taking initiative to reach the ultimate results and goals. For teachers and tutors, a lack of motivation has been one of the most frustrating hurdlestostudent'slearning.Motivationsupportsstudentstoperceivewhichresultsare strengthening and which are punishing(Morling and Lee, 2017). Hence, it encourages a child or learner to get better results and to avoid bad consequences. When students are motivated they are able to attain their personal and professional goals. It can be use as a guide to self individually. Types of motivation Intrinsic motivation:This is a kind of motivation in which a person or student willingly do something for their joy and personal satisfaction and its is very rare in school or organisation's context. Extrinsic motivation:This refers as the punishments or rewards to motivate or influence students to study and perform for their high grades. It is commonly painted in teaching as the opposition of good instruction(Rheinberg and Vollmeyer,2018). It is true to a certain extent as learning is parallel to exploration, the utilisation of punishments such as extra home work, negative marking, loss of recess time and many more, whereas rewards such as appreciation of work, handwritten notes, event tickets and much more. Therefore, in an academic setting, the teachers and tutors can use different tools and techniques of motivation to make students to learn sincerely and ensure that they do their
classwork, homework on time so that they do not lose their marks in examinations. They also make plans and schedules for their students so that they can understand the requirement and value of learning(Rheinberg, 2020). They also try to influence students by taking extra classes in order to remove doubts and confusion in lessons. CONCLUSION It can be said from this report is that motivation can be intrinsic and extrinsic for students. Teachers need to ensure that their students remain motivated and influenced towards their study so that they earn good grades and marks in their assignment. They can exploit different techniques such as appreciation of hard working student, removing recess time or game activities so that students do not misbehave in the class or finish their work on time and much more.
