INTRODUCTION
Academic skills refer to the combination of learning strategies study habits and other skills
like time management and problem solving that will help learners in learning various aspects.
Skills refers to the abilities of people so that they can effectively interact with other people. This
skill can be known as people skills interpersonal skills or soft skills which can be inherited with
the born of an individual or can be inherited with the practice or experience (Davies, Macaulay
and Pretorius, 2019). These skills can easily be developed by an individual with the help of
interaction or developing relationship with different people around them. Transferable skills is an
expertise which can be used in different fields and Occupations and can be easily transferred to
other people. These include various skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability,
teamwork, leadership and many more. This report will include the discussion about academic
personal and Transferable skills which are necessary for the completion of the post graduation.
Reflection on the current study abilities and skill are described in this report with the help of self
assessment tools. A personal development plan is created which identifies medium-, short- and
long-term Strategies for the completion of the graduate level study.

Academic skills help in nurturing the talent and abilities of an individual so that they can
achieve higher grades in their examinations. These are the habits and strategies which help
students in developing the skills which helped them in achieving their academic goals in
effective manner. Students can a work upon their research, presentation, communication and
report writing so that they can inculcate various skills which are required according to their
expertise field (Gekara and Snell, 2018). This can involve analysis, planning, test taking, social
studying and technical skills. Students have to develop their writing, reading and oral
communication practices so that they can achieve their authentic academic skills which are
necessary to achieve the post graduate award. In this manner they can retain information for
longer period of time which help them in dealing with various critical assessments and projects
which can help them in accomplishment of objectives. One of the most beneficial academic skills

which an individual have to inherit is research which help them in finding the alternatives of the
reports in assessment and students can also gather facts and information which are necessary in
completion of assessments effectively (Lam and et.al., 2019). One can improve their academic is
skills with the modification of their behaviour towards the work and study along with writers and
their subjects which are most important for them. They can involve various relevant models and
assessment in their academic which help them in nurturing the information which can help them
in achievement of post graduate award.
Personal skills can be termed as a soft skill which can be inherited easily by the respective
surroundings of an individual and with the help of past and current experience. These can
involve adaptability, dependability, problem solving, analytical skills and motivation (Sarkar and
et.al., 2020). Students have to assess their abilities and talents so that they can inherit required
skills which are necessary for the completion of the study and Course work. Personal skills play
important role in communicating the ideas and thoughts in clear manner so that listener can
understand the feelings and behaviour in effective and proper manner. This helps students in
maintaining a strong relationship with their teachers, classmates and with the people who are
around them. Personal skills can involve collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving,
professionalism, strong work ethic, written and oral communication and leadership. All these
skills will help students in learning new things and finding better opportunities which help them
in achieving good grades in their academics. These skills and abilities also help students in their
practical life when they perform operation in effective manner on their workplace.
Transferable skills refers to the ability of an individual so that they can accomplish their
objectives and role in different possible ways. This can enhance the creativity of an individual so
that they can solve various problems and issues during their academic period (Veerasamy and
et.al., 2019). There are various Transferable skills which can help students such as leadership,
critical thinking, problem solving and time management, etc. This can be inherited with the help
of previous experiences and gained over the time which can help in achievement of post graduate
award.
