• Professional skills and academic skills has huge
importance in the career development of students.
Academic skills represents the abilities and habits of
learner to become successful in his studies. These
skills contains the analyses, way of communication,
students social skills, studying and technical abilities
(Ansari and Biswal, 2022). Professional skills are
combination of both hard and soft skills.

Professional skills plays important role in developing the career of business management students (Fadil and
Khaldi, 2020). Professional skills helps in building career and also help in succeeding in job. These skills are important for
professional students such as communication, team work, coordination, problem solving and should be a creative or have
critical thinking. These skills plays major role in developing the professional career for students. Some of the benefits has
been explained below -
• Opens up new opportunity – Professional skills development in students will promote the new growth opportunities for
its career. To avail new job opportunities or growth students should have effective professional skills that could help them
in building their professional career in more efficient way.

Academic skills help students in increasing their confidence, their strengths, abilities to do work or
competency level (Plato, 2018). Some of the importance of effective academic skills are described as -
• Academic skills provides a direction in which student can manage their work schedules and studies in an
effective manner. Time management is considered as most important factor in academic skills. This
could lead students to better learn the aspect related to the business management subject effectively.
