INTRODUCTION
The academic and professional skills are referring as the competencies and abilities
which are used in the workplace for the job. The academic and professional skills are the
combination of the both skills such as hard skills and soft skills. The skills which are require in
the employability’s such as self awareness, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, etc. This
report will discuss the challenges which are facing in studying the business management and
applying in the professional practices as well as discuss about the importance of the professional
and academic skills developments. This report will also elaborate the effective team work skills.
MAIN BODY
Challenges of studying business management and thriving in professional practice
Students are facing the challenges in the business school to studying about the business
management and thriving in the professional practices. The some problems which are identify
that face by the students in studying the business management and become success in the
professional management.
 Connecting with the new people: The students face the challenges when are meet with
the new people in the business. They face difficulties and challenges to manage the
business management within the career and professional practices (Sotiriadou, 2020).
Students face the difficulties to apply the academic skills in the professional skills and
face issues to interact with the new people at the professional levels.
 Scheduling: Students scheduling the time at the school time and they are studying about
the business management in the academic skills but face difficulties in the business. The
students schedule the academic task to accomplish but they are face difficulties to success
in the professional practice and career. They face issues in the career to schedule the
tasks.
 Learning work in team: The students are learn work in the team at the academic skills
but it is difficulties for the people who are prefer to work alone and they face difficulties
in the professional practices. The dynamic team work affects the performance and
success in the project at the professional and career aspects.
 Multi- tasking: students face the issue to manage the multi-tasking at the professional
practices (Balakrishnan and Balakrishnan, 2020). The multi tasking skills are face by the

business students in the career and professional practices because the multi tasking works
are most hectic for the students to manage the task in business management.
Importance of effective academic and professional skills development:
The academic skills help students to become the more effective learners. It helps in
develop the confidence and encourage as well as motivate them to become the successful in the
life and career life. Academic skills help in enhance the productivity and success of the students
at the schools. The academic skills are important because skills may need in the professional
career and workplace. The many skills of academic are transferable to the workplace. Example:
the students done work assignments in the tea and that process help and beneficial in their
careers (Batman and Saka, 2021). The developments of the academic skills helps in improve the
performance as well as prepare for the future career.
 Time management: Time management is important in the academic skills which help in
career. The time management is ability of the students to schedule and recognize the time
efficiently. It helps in understand and mange the schedule which helps in improves the
productivity.
 Research skills: In the assignments of academic students should require to conduct the
research on the assignments and easy which helps in develop the effective search
strategies of students and that helps in develop the students career effectively.
 Self discipline: self discipline is important for develop the academic skills and develop
the ability to motivate them (Fox, 2018). The effective self discipline helps the students
to focus on the tasks. Works under the supervision helps in improve the self discipline of
the students.
Importance of professional skills development
Professional skills development is important in the corporate world and workplace with the
help of education and training to learn and grow the employee’s career. The developments of
professional skills helps in people allow staying up to date with the trends in the industry. It help
in enables the career progression and empowering the persons to become success in the current
and future roles.

 Boost confidence and credibility: Through the developments of the professional skills
helps in increase the confidence in the workplace which are most important at the
workplace. The training and developments helps in build the confidence and credibility in
the profession as they acquire professional designations and new skills sets.
 Increase the efficiency: The professional skills development is important to improve the
efficiencies of individuals (Donia and O'Neill, 2018). The professional skills improve the
ability and capabilities of the works at the workplace and it also provide the opportunities
to develop the knowledge and skills which can be acquire in the career and at workplace.
The professional skills increase the business productivity and efficiencies.
 Develop the leadership skills: the main aim of the professional skills developments is
improve the leadership skills which are most important in the business and group of work
because without the leadership skill to manage the employees and workers are difficult. It
helps in motivate and influence them.
 Achieve goals: the professional skills development is important for accomplish the career
goals and accomplish the target and objectives of the business organization. The
professional skills helps in achieve and success the goals effectively.
Effective team work skills:
The team work is the combine action of one group with the efficient and effective and group
of people who are working towards the same goals. The teamwork skill is the most important
skills which are require in the workplace and it is essential for the professional and academic
success. There are some teamwork skills which are important.
 Problem solving: in the team work, the effective problem solvers are most important
skills which are requiring in the workplace whenever the challenges and issues arise.
They should stay the calm and think about the solution as well as helps the team toward
the solution (Wallin and Nokelainen, 2022). It helps in improve the work processes in the
future.
 Listening: Team work should have listening skills which are most important in the
workplace. The team should listen to another employees and managers. The employees
should keep the open minded when they are working in the group. The employees and
team should listen about the others points of views and perspective.

 Critical thinking: the employees and team should have the abilities of the critical
thinking and allow making better and informed decision for the organization. Critical
thinking helps in provide the best decision and provide the new ideas which help in
achieve the better results in the future.
 Collaboration: collaboration skills are also required in the team work because working
in the team are challenging for the employees at the time. But the teamwork is great
opportunity for the employees to share different the experiences, perspectives and
uncovers the creative ideas. The employees can develop the productive team environment
with the help of collaboration skills (Yusuf and Ahmad, 2020). The collaboration skills
help in explore the new approaches and new learning and that will make the employees a
great manager, leader, and contributor.
 Leadership: The leadership skills are most important in the teamwork at the workplace.
Leadership skills help in manage and lead the group of people. Leadership help in
contribute to the organization success. Leadership helps in demonstrate the strong
teamwork by motivating, empowering and mentor or coach the team.
 Time management: the time management are important in the career and academic
skills. For example: managers in the team work have strong organizational skills which
help in managing the goals and objectives of the team and guide them. The manager is
also focus on the time management that the task should do at the right time and delegate
the task for achieve the goals at the time. The time management skills helps in achieve
the goals and target of the team and collaborative the work environment condition in the
future.
 Communication: the team should have the communication skills for the effective team
work. The communication skills helps in promotes the trust and create a positive team
environment as well as helps in develop motivation in the employees who are work in the
team by the speech and lecture which are necessary at the workplace to influence them
(Zhang, 2020). The communication skills in team work helps in solve the issues
effectively which are face by the group of people.

From the above the report it was concluded that the professional and academic skills are
very important in the workplace. This report discusses the challenges of business management
and successful professional practices like scheduling, contenting with new people and learning to
work in the team etc. Moreover, this report also includes some importance of effective
professional and academic skills such as achieve goals, development the leadership skills, boost
credibility and confidence skill, improve efficiency etc. In Furthermore, this report also illustrate
about the effective team working skills such as leadership, critical thinking, collaboration,
problem solving, time management, listening, communication etc.
