INTRODUCTION
In the development of an individual learning professional skills is one of the major role of
an individual to develop focused approach (Fedorova, and Tsyguleva, 2020) The professional
skills are important for me in order to increase the competitive approach in dealing with key
consequences related to academic life. With the help and support of learning professional skills,
a candidate can also increase the career based opportunities. The key academic skills are majorly
helpful for a candidate in increasing the chances of success and development. In this project
there is a brief explanation of learning and development based perspectives which increase
overall potential of a candidate. This project also includes application of SWOT analysis in order
to determine key strengths and weaknesses. This project will cover action plan in order to
perform improvement in key areas.

Challenges of studying business management and thriving in professional practice
Business management subject is a complex subject which can be hard for the students to
learn. It is ethical responsibility of a student to focus on studying business management in order
to achieve key goals and objectives related to career in management. The analysis of key issues
and challenges can help the student to develop better and systematic approach in learning the
subject. It is major role of a business management student to increase the chances of growth and
development by analysing key factors related to the subject. The key challenges and issues which
are faced by a business management student are mentioned below:
 Subject complexity- The business management subject is complex in nature and it is not
easy to understand. Complexity of the subject makes it harder for the student to grasp
knowledge in learning the subject. Teachers and professors of business management
subject should develop a professional approach in teaching the subject for increasing the
chances of student learning.
 Practical application of the subject- In the academic life, business management subject
is not only theoritical but practical. It is compulsory for a student to learn the practical
aspects of subject in order to lead the competition (Gamboni, 2017). The practical
understanding of the business management subject will increase knowledge of student
and develop key ways to increase chances of sucess.
 Lengthy- Business management subject is lengthy and contains a lot of chapters that are
related to its dimensions. In order to enhance learning related to business management, it
is crucial for the students to prepare a time table and follow the same.

Importance of effective academic skills development
The academic skills are the most important part of overall development of knowledge
related to subject in order to gain competency edge. The student must focus on increasing the
chances of growth and expansion by puttting emphasis on learning academic skills. Focusing on
academic skills will have the following importance:
 Career development- The development of career is essential for any student in the
academic life which can be achieved by focusing on the career based opportunities. In the
development of career based opportunities, it is essential for the individual to analyse
importance of academic skills. This will help a person in attaining career related goals.
The process of career development is also a business target that allows in receiving
opportunity for further improvement.
 Value and goodwill increase- The application of effective academic skills is helpful in
increasing the goodwill of a student. It is main role of a person to focus on value
development in the academic institution through developing knowledge related to
academic skills. In order to increase the chances of overall success and development, the
academic skills are important to be learned by a candidate (Lansdell, Marx, and
Mohammadali-Haji, 2020). The goodwill whihc will be increased by the academic skills
will help a student to establish value enhancement. Development of academic skills allow
an individual in effectively working that facilitates in developing positive reputation in
minds of students and teachers. It can be done on the basis of such skills that will
improve reputation of students.
 Talent enhancement- Application and development of academic skills also helps a
person to enhance the talent. Talent development of an individual, increase the chances of
academic success by getting good grades in the examinations. In order to develop focused
approach in managing the talent, it is crucial for the student to take help of time
management.

Identification of effective professional skills development with the support of SWOT analysis
The SWOT analysis is a universally adopted analysis tool which helps an individual to
develop focused approach in managing key functions and tasks (Mwaniki, 2018) . This analysis

Identification of one skill that is particularly important- personal SWOT analysis
The time management skill is one of the major skills for I will perform my SWOT
analysis. I will develop SWOT analysis which is mentioned below:
 Strengths- The strengths are major abilities of an individual which helps in increasing
chances of growth and success. Managing the time with more efficiency is my strength
which helps me dealing with key consequences of life. I will focus on increasing my
strengths to develop better career opportunities.

 Weaknesses- I am not able to prepare time table in relation to my academics and it is one
of my major weaknesses. I will develop key focus on preparing the time table to develop
precise approach in managing the routine.
 Opportunities- Development of time management in a professional manner is one of the
major opportunities available to me (Neiles, and Bowers, 2020). This will support me to
develop focused career opportunities that are effective in making me more competent.
 Threats- In relation to the time management, it is important for me to develop focused
approach by identification of key threats. Dealing with uncertainity is one of the major
threats which can impact on my academics as well as career.

From the above analysis it can be concluded that it is key role of an academic institution

This project concludes that it is key role of an institution to analyse learning and development
measures which are effective in increasing the competitive strength of an individual. It is major
role of a candidate to develop focused approach in managing key challenges in studying business
management subject. This project also includes key significance of SWOT analysis which helps
the student to focus on goals and objectives and their achievement in a precise manner.
