Business school is a place that offers us a lot of opportunities to improve our lives through our careers. However,
it requires us to commit to our studies and work smart. There are likely to be some challenges which we have to
face in our career growth but individual like have to find ways to manage them to succeed. Here's a list of
challenges that we can encounter while studying business management which are delineated as under:
• Adjusting to new surrounding
• Connecting with new people
• Scheduling
• Learning to work in a team
• Expenses
• Balancing academics with other parts of our lives
Challenges of studying business management

It refers to as learning or professional development that concerns with academic and professional staff in planned
activities to raise all dimensions of teaching, learning and economic aid in universities. This help us in making strong
strategies for study, building knowledge and confidence in class.
If we have good academic skills then it would help us in getting good employment, higher salaries, less dependent on
social assistance. We are expected to have number of skills when we initiate to get higher education that are divided
into five categories which are as below:

Importance of academic skills development

It refers to all training, certification and education that we need to succeed in our career. A professional skills describe a
habit, personality trait or ability that positively affects our performance at the workplace. Having professional skills can
help us in getting good position in the organisation, industries and work environment. Professional development college
studies, online training programs, industry certification coaching, mentoring and consultation.
Professional development can open the door to new opportunities for us and continue long even after we get our first
job. Professional development help us in enhancing our skills which are described below:

• Positive attitude and service mind set
Importance of professional skills development

SWOT analysis
STRENGTHS
• I am post graduate having skills of
writing and verbal communication,
technical skills. I can do teamwork
and make cooperation with them.
WEAKNESSES
• I am not good at time management because the
work or project that is given to me, is not done
as per given timing. I always get late in
completing such work.
• Sometime I procrastinate my work if its seems
to be very easy.
OPPORTUNITY
I have done MBA and have technical skills which can
increase number of job opportunities related to the
field.
THREATS
Erstwhile, I lose my focus on important work or an
activity which create misconception to me.
One skill that is particularly important, but I am weak at:
I am not active listener or have clarity problems and have low confidence level.

I need to speed up myself so that I would be able to do my
work in time and need to set target to analyse my speed of
doing work. This will help me in improving my
performance and increase my speed also. I need to replace
procrastination with prioritisation so that work can be done
in time. I need to improve my listening skills by
understanding the fact clearly. In this way my weaknesses
can be my skills and develop confidence in me.

Summary
Academic and professional skills development is
important for us as it help in building our confidence,
making our career. It assists us for group collaboration
with our team members and increase our capacity to self
manage or tackle issues while understanding our
responsibilities. We get able to develop a sense of self-
awareness, feeling of mindfulness and an obligation for
other people.
