INTRODUCTION
Academic knowledge is very essential in the life of student as
it helps in taking crucial decisions in life. Professional
development is a process of making collaboration with the
faculties for enhancing the learning process of the
individuals(Ashar, Kamdi and Kurniawan, 2021). The
presentation focuses on personal academic and professional
development. The challenges which arise in the study of
business management are discussed along with professional
practices which help in addressing the issues.

Challenges faced by the business management
students
The study of business management course provides various
information and knowledge about the areas of business.
There are different managerial practices which are adopted
in the businesses along with some phases of establishing an
enterprise. Business management is a very popular field for
academic purpose. The challenges faced by the business
students for thriving in the professional practice-
• Time Management
• Communication Problems
• Confronting Performance issues

Importance of effective academic skills development
Academic skills play a very crucial role in the life
of the students. It helps them in successfully
completing the academic learning journey by
enhancing the performance in an positive academic
environment. The examples of essential academic
skills which are necessary for effective
performance are communication skills, time
management skills, presentation skills, critical
analysis skills and research skills. These skills
provides the students with better results in their
academic journey.

Significance of effective professional skills development
Professional skills are the skills which are
required for becoming successful in the
professional career. It helps in providing better
quality performance to the students. The most
essential skills which are needed in the field of
business management are communication skills,
delegation skills and mentoring skills. It is very
important for the students to start their
professional skill development during their
academic learning journey(Tan and Laswad,
2018).

• I am very good in interacting with my peers and teachers and I
also actively participates in the discussions.
• I am having strength of effective research skills as I am able to
found data and information with valid sources properly.
WEAKNESSES
• I am very bad in managing my time which has led me down
on various occasions.
• I am not good in managing and leading the team. I am not
able to coordinate the efforts of all the team members.
OPPORTUNITY
• I can complete any online certification course which will help me
in increasing my credibility as a employee.
• I have the opportunity of participating in various university level
competitions which will make a positive impact on my CV and
resume.
THREATS
• There are various individuals which are competing in the
market. There is intense competition in the market.
• The existing skills which I am possessing can become
outdated in the future.

Identification of one skill which I need to
improve
The most essential skill which I will work on developing is Time
management skills. This skill will help me in both academic and professional
success. These skills are very important in submitting the tasks and
assignments on time. This also improves the efficiency and effectiveness in
the personality of the individual. The effective management of team is also
linked with good time management skills. It helps in collaboration and
coordination with other members of the team.

It can be concluded from the above presentation that it is very essential that

life. This will help the students in achieving the objectives and targets of

thinking skills, professional skills and time management skills are very
essential in the life of the student.
